Muffler

I know there is a lot out about this, but I need to ask some pointed questions.

I am going to get a new muffler just to let the V8 be heard a little more, but I dont want to lose gas mileage or low end power etc. I am not going to put duals or anything, just a muffler swap.

I was looking at just doing the ol' flowmaster 40 standby, but some people claim mpg loss and that magnaflow is better...and so on...

Any input?

TONS of info on this. DO a search.

THe 40 will be WAY loud with tons of interior resonance. I have a FM 70 big block II that has a low, mellow note. It's not overtly obnoxious inside, and lets folks know there's a V8 under there.

I got the same one. Perfect easy and cheap if that all you want to do.

I also have the Flowmaster 70 series big block. Nice tone but not too loud.

I have the dual in dual out Flowmaster 50 series on my truck and I love it. It's quiet at idle and in normal driving, but when you get past 1/2 throttle it sounds perfect....has a deep throaty sound but not raspy or obnoxious.
