does any body have a tool idea or a better way of removing the spark plug wire from the plug with out ruining it on a 2004 Tahoe with a 4.8 v-8 they will spin on the plug but only able to get one off so far you can barely get your finger's on them .cant get a standard boot puller on the boot.

I've never taken the wires off of anything except a 350 and my 6.0, but usually a good tug gets 'em right off. ...I think that's what you're asking.

Pliers maybe, and plan on replacing them. If they are the stock ones it's probably time.

I probably change my plugs and wires more than any body, about every 30K. Just cut the boot with a utility knife.

How about coil packs? You swap them out every X amount of miles too? I've chnaged my plugs, but never did wires yet. Is 30k really necessary?

No, just something I've alway's done. My truck doesn't have the coil packs. I still have the distributor on my '99.

AC Delco wires/AC Delco plugs, you will be happy you did.

 

Anyone run e3 plugs in the GMT 800/900 5.3L? They did a dyno test with the e3 in 5.3L (LS1??) on HP TV, and it tested out quite well, both performance and emission wise.

I agree. We have run Bosch Platinum's with pretty good success, but when we lost the O2 sensor, we kinda questioned why? We put in AC Platinum's (Not iridium's, I do not like NGK for anything but small engines.) and AC Delco wires, runs like a champ.

I have a practically new set of E3 plugs. I ran them for about a total of 2 days and did not like how my engine ran. It felt choppy at lights, felt like it was misfiring as well. Winded up buying orginal delco plugs and the engine runs the way it should. I still have these E3 plugs sitting in their orginal boxes, in my trucks door bin. I'll guess when the time comes I'll have 8 paper weights.

Thanks. Sorry to hear you had to find out the expensive way though. Just goes to show you what may work with a carb will not work with these trucks.

You're not the first I've heard with that experience with E3. Also have heard about less than desirable results with some Bosch plugs
