I have been a member here for years, but just don't post much.

 

 

I had a 2001 2500HD CC with the 8.1 and Allison for 5 years. During that time, they started making the 1/2 ton crew cabs, so in 2006, I got a Z71 SLT with 3.73 rearend and loaded to the max with every available option.

 

 

I called it the GUTLESS WONDER!!! That was the weakest truck I have ever owned.

 

 

Well, a couple weeks ago, I decided to get rid of it......it had 143,000 on the clock, and I owed $14k. Dealer offered me $13500, with $3k discount on the new truck, and $3500 GM Cash, AND the wife gets a $3k GM Supplier Discount.

 

 

I ended up with a 2009 SLE 2500HD CC Z71 with the 6.0, a gooseneck hitch and bedliner installed, for $33,500.

 

I am happy again!!!!!

Congrats on the new truck, I'm sure it will serve you well. It's no wonder you felt the 06 truck was gutless after having the 8.1 The 6.0 is a good motor.

I had to settle for my "new" truck being 3 1/2 years old with 130000 miles on it.

Well, an update.....

 

I drove a 2014 2500HD CC 4x4 yesterday......worked a deal....trade on my 2009 GMC with 187,000 on the clock is a wash.

 

2014 LTZ, $10k off of sticker, plus rebates, and supplier discount ......can't hardly wait for the credit union to open Monday.....LOL
