I Dont Get It

So today on my break at lunch i was browsing through the internet lookn for trucks with 5" lifts. Since i got a 2.5" leveling on mine, and im putting a 3 inch body on and i wanted to see what its roughly gonna look like. I came across numerous trucks that are 2wd with lift 6 inch lifts. To me that is the stupidest and biggest waste of money. You would have no use for that.

I saw the one 2wd drive truck with a 6 inch lift hooked up to a trailer. that truck sagged so much in the rear end haha. Nothing like half ton 2wd suspension pulln a boat. Thats 4 leaf springs i believe. My truck it may be a half ton but i got 6 leaf springs each side and air bags.

Anyways i dont see the point.

I don't get it either, but some places don't need 4wd but they need the clearance. Really the only place I can think of that would fit that bill would be maybe the desert.

Most people I know with a lift do not lift for functionality, but for looks. So 2wd vs 4wd makes no difference when it never leaves the pavement.

Completely agree

I would personally never do this to a 2WD, but I would get a 2WD with lots of clearance if I came across one. I learned how to drive in a 64 Ford one ton (no duels) that had a crap load of clearance and would go through alot before getting stuck. If you loaded up that one ton with weight (wood, etc.), I swear you could almost climb trees.

I have to say that a 2WD lift isn't as bad as 21" low profile tires on a 4WD

yeah i see the point. but even just a leveling kit would be enough for a 2wd i think.

Just with me it really helps to be higher especially in the winter. our gravel road hardly gets plowed. and the amount of snow that accumulates is retarded, so its nice to be higher with bigger tires.

i just think its goofy tho as its a 2wd with a 6 inch lift and cant really take the ladies out 4x4ing haha.

Then there are those that put a ton of money into their 4x4's with a nice lift, wheels and tires and it never sees the dirt and they life in sunny Florida where there isn't a chance of snow on the roads. Some just enjoy what they have. Freedom to do what you want. No matter what, it keeps the accessory companies in business.

haha yeah i suppose. just personally i would never do it. but if really had nothing better to do i was just make my own lift wirh random chunks of metal and hockey pucks put a roll cage in and get drunk and jump it.

Yeah there is a summer project. i already got a 92 gmc 2wd that i wrote off. side of the truck is caved in but still drives nice! Who wants to drink beer and put a redneck lift in??

I agree, to a certain extent. Some 2wd'ers run in the desert and such. When I take mine out, I leave it in 2wd until I get stuck, or close to it. Usually it gets pretty far before having to go into 4wd. Now, If I only had 2wd, there is a lot I would not try and prob not get stuck at all, while still having a little fun. I say its personal preference of course, if someone wants to lift their 2wd, then so be it.

Your just pissy cause you have a lifted 2WD.... :):D:P It looks great BTW.

Seriously though...what SilveradoWV said is true...and yeah you can do whatever you want to your truck....as long as you don't put hundred spokes and low-pro's on a stock height jeep....yes I have seen this...I couldn't snap a good pic though as I was driving and it came out blurry.

Personally...I am a big fan of a level truck...

And I also have no use for a lowered truck...I would rather raise it up than drop it down...But again that's my tastes.
