First tow with the new silverado. Got laid off at the refinery Friday, we went to pick up my trailer I was living in yesterday. Back to retirement for awhile for me.

20mph steady winds (with stronger gusts) in our face all the way home, got 10.8 mpg while towing. Got 20 mpg on the way up there empty.

That rainforest green metallic is a beautiful color, good looking truck you have there!

Also nice to see you have your trailer and hitch set-up properly, truck sits nice and level.

Sunset Trail Super Lite ST250RB

Wife and I both love it. We had a 2015 jayco 23rb we thought would be ok (for sale now) but it was just too small with no slide. Plus I couldn't get comfortable with my feet hanging off the bed. The 80 inch bed really makes a difference.

I have a 322bhs spree connect...was liking to downsize to the sunset trail but I need bunks :(

The 240bh and the 270bh have bunks. We don't need bunks although I did consider them as a place for my big lab to sleep. We decided just to let him sleep in his kennel next to the kitchen table then we wouldn't have to worry about him wandering around chewing on the cabinets or upholstery while we were asleep.

One of the dumbest hauls I think I've ever done. F-350 bucket truck! Holy tail heavy. White-knuckle central at 45 mph. Without the W.D. / anti-sway hitch, I wouldn't have even attempted it. Made it safely and that's all that matters, due to my incredible skill (or stupidity ... ). Only casualty was the wire for the right side LED reverse light on the trailer - I scraped bottom twice, coming into 2 lovely MA intersections, which shredded my wire. Threw a new wire on when I got home - that was fun at 20°F ...

I had to remove both LED reverse lights prior to loading the truck. The duallies wouldn't clear them. Couldn't load it backwards, because they also wouldn't fit between the fenders. Thing barely fit on the 18' trailer. Front wheels were inches from the edge, and one tire on each of the tandems was hanging over the side. Had to watch wires and bridges too - was pretty close to 12'6" in height. One big SOB!! Wish I had better lighting for the pics, but the sun sets at 16:00 out here in winter.

To top it all off, the thing was puking brake fluid, and had no brakes. Made for some fun loading & unloading! Glad I brought 2 wheel chocks - one for the trailer and one for the truck. The E-brake on my little half-ton Silverado doesn't seem to work all that well with the rear tires 2 feet in the air. :D

All in a day's work.

Sportin' the winter wheels:

Wow that thing is a monster! What's the length on that? Gotta be 30' minimum, I'm guessing.

I just realized that bucket truck I hauled last week is a F-Super Duty, and not a F-350. The GVWR is 15k - guess the truck weighed a bit more than I thought ... :noway:

Wow $2.18 for diesel. Nice being nowhere near New England!

 Well, these days any one of the big 3 is just as likely to be towed, unfortunately. Great drivelines, crap electronics.

Was just because it wasn't registered .. and had no brakes. It ran and drove though.
