I made a video of how my truck sounds in park with my new Flowmaster 40 single in, dual out setup...

I like how it sounds and I don't have much, if any drone issues...

I also have the Flowmaster 40 series on my truck. Single in/out in factory location. I love the way it sounds

Nice, congrats! I have a 40series on my dodge, single in dual out...2.5 inch piping with 3 inch chrome tips, very similiar setup. I bet you love starting it up now :rollin:

how much was install/parts btw?

At my local muffler shop were I live, I got it installed for right at $250.00 tax included. That includes the welded install with, the Flowmaster 40 Series Muffler, all new 2.5" piping straight out the back, and 2 3.5" slash cut chrome tips.

250 is a pretty good price with tips. congrats

Yeah, this guy's shop I've been to before; they basically gave me a hookup like they would do for a friend or family member..

I'm very happy with the sound. :rollin: No drone issues, I can still listen to my radio, talk on cell phone and speak to any passengers; no problem...

Sounds good....I have the 50 series with turndowns and it sounds very similar to yours from behind....gotta love it! Mine is almost silent at idle when I'm in the driver's seat....can you still hear yours?

Wow is the 40 series considered some sort of quieter SUV type muffler? In my experience flows were usually the worst of the bunch as far as drone was concerned.

I guess it's the firing order of the 5.3 that really gives it a nice loping sound and I just love the way the engine sounds at almost any RPM. I definitely need to let others hear it too with some good deep exhaust. I"m just worried about DRONE.

I like my hands free bluetooth and the way my XM sounds. I am also senstive to too much bass or I'll get headaches.

No they are among the loud ones.....BUT....you've got two cats before the mufflers to quiet things down. As far as I know, the higher the number at Flowmaster, the quieter they get.

I'm sure some people have more drone than others, especially people with stock shift points, who don't hammer down. I still get a little drone, doesn't last long because I'm not at the rpm range it happens at for long. It isn't that loud, probably because I have the pipes going straight back and not out the sides right behind the muffler...

When I get a aftermarket tuner or custom tune, were I tighten up my shift points; I'll all but pratically eliminate what little drone I have because I won't be in the rpm that it happens...

As always Flowmasters sound great..... Sweeeeet truck dude...

I wish they made a stainless system for my 99nbs..... Oh, well I guess it will be Dynomax or another brand that makes stainless steel kits..... I put my kit on in 03...... I have several places that the tube's have rusted out on the bottom......... Its the only rust on my truck.......... Aluminized Steel exhaust is a JOKE...
