Nice Truck For Sale

This one went quick. A white 2005 GMC Sierra Z71 crew cab 4X4, SLT, loaded with leather, 10way power bucket seats on both sides, Bose, tow package, painted fiberglass bed cover, and running boards. Absolutely mint condition, not a scratch, no noticeable wear on original tires or on the seats. Original 7,000 miles!!!!!!!!! It had the original sticker displayed with the MSRP of $ 37,500.

 

Asking price? $ 15,500. This truck sold in two hours after being parked with the FOR SALE sign. I would have bought it myself but I was not quick enough.

I am unhappy that i did not move quickly enough on it. The truck was parked outside the building where I work. You do not run into trucks this nice at this price often. If it was for sale by a dealer, they would have been asking $ 21k at least.

Keep looking...you'll find a deal out there. Kelly Blue Book says the truck would fetch $17,100 in a private party transaction (assuming it was in good condition). You should be able to find something close to that if you're patient.

This one was 5.3 without the AFM. Also had aluminum wheels, steering wheel radio controls, turn signal power folding mirrors with curb tilting feature, rear defogger, fog lights, and the overall condition was truly showroom. Looks like it was a garage queen all its life.

 

If I had bought the truck, I would be selling mine and keeping this one. I like the looks of Sierra better than Silverado and this one had more options than mine. Although mine has super low miles too - a 2006 Z71 crew cab with 15k miles isn't bad. And it is in showroom condition too.

I know, I have a 2006 truck and I bought it because I knew that the AFM was coming in 2007.

I came up with $ 19,400 for private party value for an excellent condition truck with this equipment using the Kelly Blue Book. In fair condition it would be worth $ 17,700. What the guy was asking for it was pretty much the trade in value.

 

The key here is that most used 2005 trucks have about 50-70k miles on them now. Finding one with mileage this low is very hard.

I've run into THREE of those in the last two months of looking. Each time it looked too good to be true and sure enough, when I dug deep enough...it was a salvage or "rebuilt" title.

Heck no, one owner truck. Never been hit. He said that he had it for sale six months ago for $ 20k (had 6k miles on it then) and nobody bought it, so he just lowered the price to sell it.

 

But you guys are right, I would have run Carfax on it. what looks too good to be true, usually is. But occasionally you have people who have plenty of money and have one too many vehicles and just wanted to dump one they do not use much. Maybe he just had it to tow his boat and he sold the boat. Who knows. I did not ask.

Keep looking...there will be deals...people are out of work and if they are selling a truck that they don't owe anything on they'll be more able to make a deal.

 

He might have been in the same position I was a few months back. I cut several thousand off the ask price just to move it. It was easier for me to sacrifice the money than the extra time trying to sell it.

Did you select the crew cab configuration and 4X4? The extra equipment would not account for the $ 2,500 difference. And both of us are using the kbb. Someone else do a check?

Yep. Might be a zip code thing...could be more expensive in your part of the country than mine.
