What's Everyone's Avergae Mpg?

so, what is everyone getting for MPG's with their truck? I have a sierra 2500HD extended cab 4x4 with the 6.0 liter V8 and I average around 12.8 MPG. I find this number to be pretty good, considering it's a multi-ton 4x4 that has the aerodynamics of a parachute. I have gotten up to almost 14 before on a long trip cruising on the hgihway. Although, I will say, when I bought it from the GMC dealer, they told me I would be getting north of 16 with it, so I wanted to see if anyone actually came close to that with theirs.

I have 03 ex-cab silverado with 5.3L i average 12.6 - 13.9 city and 15.5 - 17 mpg highway. but I got 285's for tires and I like to get on the gas a lot. Thats with 93 octane. Only my 2nd tank of 93 tho. Im happy with my MPG. Anything under 10 mpg will start scare me, lol.

That's about what I get with my '04, 2500HD, CCSB, 265's, 4x4 with an 8.1L. On the highway I can get in the 14's if I baby it. With a 6.0L I would expect a little better than you are getting but it depends on how much city driving you do and it you idle it allot or warm it up in the mornings.

On my '96 with the 5.7L 350, about 12 around town, and between 14 and 15 highway

My '09 just hit 6500 miles and computer says 11.5MPG right now. Highest I've had it.

2003 suburban 5.3 averages 14.2 mpg my silveado is between 12-16

2008 GMC Sierra SLT E. Cab Z71 with 5.3L w/AFM (non flex fuel engine)

 

Average over 25,000 miles is 16.7 combined. That includes driving in AUTO (4x4) during winter for about 5 months.

 

That is slightly less that my similarly equipped 2004 GMC.

I dont know about you guys, but it seems the harder i run it on the high way it gets better mileage. Everyone says keep it under 2 grand but i beg to differ. i've done it several times and it was a pure and total waste. Made the same trip yesterday, running the shit outta it and i used half of what i used when i was under 2 k going 55. I'm talking keeping it wound up around 90. It just blows my mind.
