My thoughts exactly! If anything, I would think that the Escalade would be more reliable than the Suburban/Yukon.

I have zero faith in anything CR has to say and these rankings are based in part of their "opinion". You have to remember not long ago they gave any Toyota vehicle an automatic thumbs up for reliability. Considering recent events they now admit that was an error. I don't care what your drive or who makes it. Every vehicle, new or used, carried risk. For every horror story there are far more happy customers. It's just us happy folks are less vocal. Of the 5 Chevy trucks, 3 Chevy cars, 3 Ford trucks, 2 Jeeps, and 3 GMC trucks I have owned over the years there is not one I regret buying.

Not necessarily. Remember, the more options and "goodies" you put on a vehicle, the more stuff could go wrong.

That said, I don't recall hearing much of anything negative about the Escalade.

yup this made no sence to me for a lot of reasons. #1) for the f-250 it says it did poorly in safety testing, when as far as i know NO trucks over 8500 gvwr are crash tested. (is escalade over 8500 too, hmmmm)

2.) it kept refering to "value score" to me "value" is subjective. An f250 or Escalade may be a horrible value if your some old geezer who drive 3 miles a week to the quick-e-mart. However, if your comapring these vehicles to comprable vehicles in their respective classes this may not be so, depending on who you are. Yes both of these vehicles will be more costly to operate, by a long shot, over a mid sized car, but they sure can do a hell of a lot more than one of those can.

3.) i trust CR and Forbes on this stuff about as much as i trust Homer Simpson with my spare uranium rods

4.) Judging all of GM by the Korean Wonder Heap is like judging your performance at work for the past year on that one day you showed up with a hangover

I drove SuperDuty's for 10 years and they do suck.

Escalades are built in Mexico and have a reputation for poor build quality. Plus they have every elctric gizmo that's made and the more stuff you have the greater the chance of failure.

Suburban/Yukon was/is built in Janesville WI or Arlington TX. Superior build quality even with a faster line speed. All three vehicles are EXACTLY the same underneath its just with the Escalade we get to charge $20 for a $10 bill :happysad:

Aveo's are made in Korea and built to a price point. 'Nuff said.

The Colorado/Canyon platform was designed by Isuzu which also sold a version of the truck. Isuzu pulled the plug on their own version. Whats that tell you about their opinion of their own design?

And finally, as others have pointed out, the source was a Consumer's Report article. Their WORSHIP for all things non-domestic is nauseating.

but it sucks to be the Compact Trucks owners on here: BOTH the Colorado AND The Canyon are knocked as the Worst Trucks ever made!

The Dakota I drive for work begs to differ...

You thought the Tundra has bad bed shake?? This bed jiggles while going over expansion joints...and the "V8" sounds like a pitiful V6.

It is...if Ford can't be bothered to make the interior and exterior anything other than horrid...imagine how the rest of the "truck" was "designed"...

Read it and chuckled. :happysad:

My dads owns a 2009 Canyon and for him it works well. He likes it alot

I never listen to those stupid reviews. Still ticks me off though when they have to bash the domestics and hump the imports!
