Lifted Truck With Stock Wheels

Trying to get some info or past experiene with installing stock wheels on a lifted Silverado. Currently have 6in lift with 35x20 tires with a backspace of 5.71. Was wanting to find some used tires around 34 or 35x18 to put on my stock 18" wheels for the winter so my 20" chrome wheels don't rust out. I was told that is impossible to do. I am not understanding why this is. Its the same backspacing, just a smaller wheel. Can someone please explain this to me.

It depends on your specific lift manufacturer if the knuckles will be compatible with the stock wheel backspacing, but since your current setup appears to accept the same backspacing as the stock 18s, I don't see where there would be a problem.

Retaining my stock wheels with fat tires on a lifted truck was one of the main reasons I went with Rancho, because at the time they were one of the only ones compatible with stock backspacing.

Clay, Hope you dont mind me askin, but what it cost you for your lift, and did you have to upgrade the shocks or is that optional?

Chris.
