Vibration Problem With Lift And New Tires

Hi guys, I'm new to the site I've got a 2007 GMC Sierra 2wd extended cab. I just put the rough country 3" lift and everything went together fine. When I upgraded the tires from 245/70r17 up to a 285/70r17 I get this nasty vibration coming from the rear end everytime that I hit the brakes.........And only when I hit the brakes, When I'm accerlating or if I'm keeping a steady speed there is no vibration at all. Anyone know what is causeing this and what the fix is?

When I put the old tires and wheels back on the vibration is gone. I've narrowed it down to the rear end because with new tires on the front and old on the rear there is no vibration, with old on the front and new on the rear the vibration is back and with all 4 new the vibration is still there. The tires were balanced at the tire shop and I already had my alignment done. I've tried rotating the tires and that doesn't seem to change anything.

The tire shop recomended traction bars and I haven't counted that idea out yet but I'm still looking for other options?

Anyone have any ideas?

Remove the rear clips that are on the studs of the brakes. This will fix your problem. With them installed the aftermarket rims will not mount flat on the brakes. Remove them and reinstall rims and it should be fixed!!!

Damn someone beat me to it!

Agree 1000%. Take off your rear wheels. Remove retaining rings that are on the wheel studs. Re-install rear wheels. Problem solved.

OR i can sell you some expensive traction bars and steal your money...

Thanks for all the help guys, I took those clips off and magically the vibration is gone btw this is a good looking site u got here with lots of good info

Thanks, yea I've read mixed reviews of the RC kit but I've seen some good stuff put out from them for other vehicles than the trucks (Jeeps in specific) If something does fail it is a good reason to tell my wife why I NEED to spend a lot of money on my truck

On a side note You've got the same set up I've been looking to run with the dominator steps and the westin bull bar any problems with either? or the install?
