Need Help Asap

Hey guys, so I drove to school fine, and then today after school I went to remote start it, and the fuel pump came on, it cranked, stopped (it's supposed to), cranked again, and then it quit. So I hopped in and went to start it with the key, and when I turned the key, the fuel pump didn't come on, and the gear indicator lights didn't come on. So I suspected I had and issued with the Black Bear PCM I just installed 2 days ago. So I swapped out the PCM, and had nothing still, so I unhooked the battery for a couple minutes, and hooked it back up, and still had nothing, so I went for the fuse box. I had the 40 amp ignition fuse blown. So I went to napa and replaced that, and still no dice, so I had it towed home. When I got it home, I checked the remote start fuses, and one of them was blown, so I replaced it, and still nothing. So I'm getting a little lost?

Any input and ideas are greatly appreciated

If its still under warranty, this is the point I would "tap out", and let the dealer figure it out.

Dont laugh at this you have nothing to lose. Take the key out of the truck and lock the doors. Place key in door lock and unlock the door, then try and restart your truck it might work, (it did on my 99) the theift system is working and not letting your truck run becasue it forgot what key works it. :uhoh:

No, it won't crank at all.

My truck doesn't have any theft things on it. I have a guy coming over that is going to check it out

Starter in a dead spot?

Ok, I got it fixed, here a wire from where they tapped for the remote start was rubbing on a metal plate right under the steering column, so I re wrapped the connection, and put some tape over the metal edge, and used wire ties to pull the harness up away a little farther

Good deal.

Lucky it didn't cause a fire man!

Remote starts are a nightmare.

I had one installed professionally, 2 months later while driving on the highway my security light came on, all electronics went dead, truck ran fine until I pulled over to start and restart. Well when I put it in park the truck wouldn't leave park.

Turns out the remote start Viper 5701 or something took a dump and then the truck assumed it was stolen so it went in lockdown mode.

Had the system pulled out and refunded and the truck has purred like a kitten since.

I had the same thing happen on my 2000 which had an aftermarket remote start. I punted and end up bring it to the dealer (this was a few years ago). Just out of curiosity do you often move your wheel up and down. Mine was a chafed wire in the column and I have always wondered if it was the fact that I always moved the wheel up and down.

i would never install an aftermarket remote start... everyone i know who had them has either stopped working or messed up their electronics
