Should Wax Be Used On Chrome Wheels?

Hello all,

I have a fairly new set of MotoMetal wheels. They are chrome. I would like to know the best way to protect them, keep them looking new, and keep them easy to clean. The guy that sold them to me said, "Slap on a good coat of wax after you clean them." I have looked around on other forums; some people say I wouldn't dare put wax on my wheels, and others say it's a terrific way to maintain them. What are your thoughts or experiences? Thanks!

I would highly recommend waxing your chrome rims. The first week I had my truck I did a nice wash and clean and then waxed all the chrome on my truck. It might be a preference for some but i think it helps a lot and when you get them dirty I think it makes the brake dust and dirt come over a lot easier. Nice Rims! :)
