Bulletin for the hours resetting...My mileage 64063...hours 1879

IPC Engine Hour Meter Resets - keywords cluster DIC display hour meter intermittent start up #PIT4368A - (05/29/2007)2003-2007 Chevrolet Silverado Classic

2003-2007 GMC Sierra ClassicSome owners may comment of the ipc engine hour meter resetting. This concern may be very intermittent and normally occurs at key up and/or start up.

GM Engineering is aware of this concern and working on a correction. At this time there has been varying success repairing this concern with the following information:

Check the battery/s with the Midtronic's battery tester and also perform a load test using a Vat40 or similar load tester to make sure the battery/s are in good condition. We have found in some cases a weak battery could cause this concern, this step is very important on vehicles with the 6.6L Diesel Engine where both batteries are used for cranking the engine.
Check the battery cables and make sure all connections are clean and tight.
Check the IPC powers and grounds (G200, G203, G100, G110 and the braided ground strap between the engine and cowl G104 and G107) connections and make sure they are clean and tight.

If the IPC has not been replaced, replace the IPC.

afternoon to all

been reading the posts on the hour meter problem ..... lol sheeeesch...

i was filling up with fuel and i was flipping through to the trip meter to reset it and i notieced that my hour meter had regressed back, and i hadn't noticed it before , i have 66,358 miles at the time and about 2100engine hours on the meter, before, this last fillup, then when i went to fill it up and it showed 4 hours and i know i didn't do anything before, except reset the trip meter to figure up my gas milege. now. today i go to fill up again and it says 1 hour. ... on the meter.....ummmmm wtf...lol so now i go for a ride ,for about 2hours without shuttng off the engine , i get to my destination and shut the truck down, i come back out start the truck up and the hour meter is reset to 0,,,,,:lol: ...lol it seems like every time i shut the truck off now and restart it, it resets the hour meter...to 0... :P ....not sure what to think now. i've done the search on here and it doesn't seem like anyone has had this exact same problem, i understand some have had their hour meter go back to 0 , but, not everytime u restart the truck ........ aghhhhhhhhhh what to do ...lol

any recommendations or opinions r welcome..........

My 2011 Chevy Silverado has a total of 1,920.3 engine hours an 78,339 miles with a total of 3,831.8 gallons of fuel burned. Which gives me an overall average speed and fuel economy of 40.79 mph and 20.44 MPG over the life of the truck so far.

On the 2006 2500HD I don't bother checking the hours anymore since the d.i.c resets itself.

18,118 miles, 644 hours, averages 28.13 MPH. I am not the original owner, it does have factory remote start, I am guessing it got a lot of use. I rarely use it.
