Intermediate Shaft Install Time...

got my intermediate shaft ...before i install i was curious about the install time...software at work says its pays 3.5 hours to install the shaft which had me a little worried about it being difficult. after finding a install post on the forums it seems extremely easy...says it takes about 20 mins...keep steering wheels straight...1 15mm bolt up top, 1 15mm bolt at bottom, slide out shaft, install is reveresed.

 

is the process really that simple? i will be installing in my 2004 yukon denali

It's that simple. You may have to move your accelerator pedal assembly out of the way.

Took me about 45 minutes when I did it. I could do it in twenty minutes now if I had to do it again. I'd replaced the white steering bearing with the newer green one. The shaft alone did not resolve my truck's clunking issue.

oh ok great, sounds good. ill have to check on monday and see if i was looking at the wrong thing or not. lol. Where is the cheapest place to get the new green bushing/bearing from?

Please elaborate on the bearing. Is this a separate part and how does the original one go bad? what are the symptoms? Is there a designated "redesigned bearing"?

The green bearing is the redesigned bearing.
