well this is potentially good news for my family, i have still had real steady work thru the whole recession but this could turn out to be some really good news for canada. some of you might be against it, but if i was american i would be all for it. they call it "dirty oil" but in reality it is either dirty or bloody oil. and this dirty oil supplies tens of thousands of people jobs in this province alone, im from ontario originally came to alberta because of oil, the onlyway i can support my family. some of the things alberta does i disagree with but i have a good paying job and its never gonna stop, the hunger for oil will never stop so my job wont either. if the US decides to act on the keystone XL pipeline good things will happen in canada and it will create jos in the states. and you all wont have to rely on the Arabs or deep water drilling. and to tell you the truth, before politicians call it "dirty oil" they gotta look up the facts, yes it is strip mining. but the reality is, the oilsands in alberta only account for a TINY fraction of the global greenhouse gas picture. livestock in north america emits more gasses than the oilsands do. and if it wasnt for the canadian dirty oil, gas prices in the states and canada would skyrocket. we already account for almost a quarter of usa's crude imports, plus your own people wont die trying to get it. but who knows hillary does some good talking....but she realizes that canada hasnt spilt millions of litres in the ocean or another 4 million into a river. as far as oil spills, canadas is clean. im all for this thing. would be nice if it goes.

DIRT2OIL BABY!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the non warning. I puked on my key board when I opened up your link, only to see a picture of Hillary. Other than that, screw the tree huggers. More oil is good. Lets harvest all the oil we can now. Earth first! We can rape the other planets later.

no kidding those greenpeace queers are so stupid, last year when they decided to take "action" in the mine i work in they risked peoples lives and their own. and they thought that they shut down oil production for 12 hours but in reality the plant was on shutdown hahaah. the shovel they strapped themselves too was scoopin over-burden ahahah. shoulda picked a better time to do it :lol::lol: idiots

people piss me off. Ok lets not send any oil down to the us and see how long people can really last for? People have to get their head outta their asses. Yes it does burn and create toxins but dont entirely stop it and say its bad for you. There is other shit in this planet that is more harmful to the ozone then oil. Keep using our oil and keep finding new innovative and efficient ways for a cleaner burn. Lets see these Greenpeace assholes live in northern Alberta when its -40 in the winter and driving there gay electrical cars or walk to work, or get basic needs and wants.

Yes, lets ignore a problem! The problem is we will not have oil forever. We rely to heavily on oil from unstable countries. Why do we not invest money and JOBS into finding solutions, not just more oil?

And calling someone "queers", only reaffirms to people the lack of education you have.

I certainly don't see any harm in it. Gasoline has to come from somewhere, I think this would make better sense than getting oil from places we aren't in such good standing order with. Yes oil isn't gonna be around forever, but we're a couple decades from crossing that bridge, I'm good with the strides we are making in alternative fuels.

Can we please A)not take this thread down that route? Personal attacks aren't gonna do anything but cause trouble. And B) Quit it with the Q-word.... That's taking things down another dark path we don't want to go down.... and both of those are gonna make me put the moderator hat on if they continue. I think all can agree nobody wants that.

here is some perspective on how much work oil does and how lazy society is if you consider how much work oil does:

1 gallon of oil does the equivalent work of 600 person hours.

imagine a world without oil..... you can't make anything without oil, seriously. even funnier, you can't get oil with out oil. If you stop and think about it, it's nearly incomprehensible to imagine life without oil.

the 1700-1800's must have REALLY REALLY SUCKED but at least they didn't know any better.

keep drilling

i know we wont have oil forever but at least if you get more from canada your own people dont have to die trying to get it. do you know what it would take to stop relying on oil??? its a whole lot more than you think, they get countless simple things like a plastic bowl come from it. those dumbasses that broke into the mine(s) were thinkin they were making a difference, when truth be told NOTHING we do or them or anybody else in this world is gonna stop our need for oil. do you how much money it would take and oil itself to convert everything into a non-oil hungry society. now my "lack of education" got me a red seal trade and a job with an oil company that puts food on my families table, paid vacations, hefty pension, double time OT and provides us with a good life. with no end in work in the future. it also provides greenies like you simple day to day things. what are your solutions to the oil crisis?

    • Those are parts changers. It can get expensive though. I was a mechanic for 30 yrs. My truck has made this noise since new. I really don`t know what it is. It really doesn`t bother me. I`m still in warranty but have not brought it to the dealer.   I`m not buying the oil pump prime thing. Screw the TSB. I believe it`s in the trans pump gears. They rattle when that piss poor ULV oil drains off after a while. I believe those sharp tooth gears, with backlash, can rattle when dry. Not a vane style oil pump. Wonder who`s right? Me, or the TSB?🤔   Maybe I`m wrong?
    • Sounds about right. I miss the days of mechanics lol.
    • On the PCM side, blue PCM connector, pin 18, solid gray color (no stripe) wire circuit 435.  That is the EGR low circuit which an issue on that line (be it the wiring, the PCM or the EGR valve or system performance) will trigger P0401 when it tests that code.     There is also a VERY old TSB that states to make sure you clear the DTCs ANY time the PCM is unplugged, reprogrammed, or if the EGR valve is unplugged or replaced as the PCM has an auto zero function in the PCM for the EGR pintle data   61-65-59: SMU - SECTION 6E - ENGINE CONTROLS - CLEAR DTC'S - (Nov 25, 1996)   "CLEAR ANY DTCS FROM THE VCM ANYTIME AFTER DOING VCM REPLACEMENT/ PROGRAMMING, TURNING THE IGNITION ON WHILE THE EGR VALVE IS DISCONNECTED, OR REPLACING THE EGR VALVE."   Some diagnostic aid notes in the GM diag on P0401 for a 1995 S10 Blazer:   Diagnostic Aids Notice: In order to prevent further damage if the EGR valve shows signs of excessive heat, check the exhaust system for blockage (possibly a plugged converter) using the procedure found on the restricted exhaust system check. If the exhaust system is restricted, repair the cause; one of which might be an injector which is open due to one of the following reasons: Stuck Grounded driver circuit Check the oil for possible fuel contamination if a stuck open fuel injector is found. Poor connection or damaged harness - Inspect VCM harness connectors for the following conditions: Backed out terminal BL 18 Improper mating Broken locks Improperly formed or damaged terminal Poor terminal to wire connection Damaged harness Intermittent test - If connections and harness check OK, monitor a digital voltmeter connected between terminal BL 18 and ground while moving related connectors and wiring harness. If the failure is induced, the voltage reading will change.
    • maybe get a service manual off ebay?  or check charm.li (website) or subscribe to alldata.com for it?
    • This biggest difference in a HM oil is in contains some  "Seal Conditioner". DEXOS oils and most shelf oils are "Dry" oils which over time harden seals. "Seal Conditioner" is more times than not, an Ester. Addition will soften the seals over time but will not repair one that leaks or has cracked. Esters also provide some cleaning but these HM oils don't contain enough to solve out hard deposits. Just the soft stuff.  Also a function of an Ester.    Ester's are not 'allowed' as a 'co-base" by license. Weird, right?  A certain amount is allowed as an additive. Bunch of game playing is what it is. It's why HM oils don't have a DEXOS approval.    DEXOS is a license 'with' a specification but is not a specification. Never was, never will be. It's GM's slot machine always paying the house. Use what you like.
