How Often Do Yall Go To The Doctor?

As the title says who goes to the doctor for the most minor of things or do you wait it out until your arm has actually fallen off?

 

I currently have what I THINK is strep throat and I've felt like crap all day. I was determined I was going to the doctor in the morning. I ate (for the first time today at 8 p.m.) and took some medicine and I'm feeling alot better and now I'm thinking maybe I don't have to go to the doctor.

 

As you can tell I'm a typical guy who doesn't go to the doctor until I absolutely have to.

 

So what does everyone else do?

I go to the doctor when it's broken, need more than 10 stitches, or I can't breath (I have asthma).

Last time I went was about 3 years ago, and that was for pneumonia, when I have to go, I can tell. I don't go until I just can't function anymore, as I hate(or am scared of) needles. I've had very few random sicknesses since then, none too bad, and usually only lasting about 4-5 days most, but not worth the doctor's office to me. I hope I never have to go to the doctor again.

only time i went to the doctors is when i almost cut the tip of my finger off, good thing the bone stopped it, lol other then that i never go, when i sprained my thumb three times, i just didn't use it where my friends will go to the doctor to get x-rays or splinters or casts.

If I'm going to the doctor then I'm on a stretcher. Regular check-ups are more for little kids and the elderly the way I see it.

the way the medical sector works is, they want to see you as often as possible or for the stupidest shit,why? MONEY!!

 

i'm a firm believer in what dosen't kill you makes you stronger, and also that americans are over presribed medication..hell look at kids with ADD and ADHD, pills are a band aid for a problem not a cure..and yes i do have medical insurance

I really never go to the doctor. I can tell you one instance where I've gone in the last 10 or so years. Usually NyQuil and a shot of your favorite whiskey will cure just about anything.

I go in if it causes me to miss work. I think that should be a rule.....If you take a sick day, you better find out what's wrong with you ASAP. We are getting much too lazy.

I go if it's major.. like i can't get out of bed for 4 days in a row, or something got cut off. BAck when i was in my late 20's, i had gall stone attacks for 6 months before i went to the doctor. I finally made an appt. and when i went i felt fine, so the doctor tried to pass me off. I said, nope, i was on the bathroom floor for 9 hours last night, something ain't right! Fix it! 2 weeks later, had my gall bladder out, no problems since. Had one bad sinus infection last year, i just battled it out without antibiotics... i do have a regular doctor, and when he sees me come in, he knows something is up.

I hardly ever go. I don't get sick very often, and if I do it's usually just a cold/cough. Most things can be taken care of with over the counter meds. If I can't get something to go away then I would go to the doctor because it might be an infection that I need a prescription for. I just don't see the point in wasting my time for them to say you have a cold, take some tylenol. Gee thanks.

Hopefully you are supporting your VA as that is where my wife's paycheck comes from

 

 

I went to the Doc in sept for a sinus issue. All I want fixed is my sinus issue (stuffy all the time). This turned into him wanting me to come back a month later for a physical and tetnus (sp?) shot. It has been over 2 months and I have yet to be back. Guess I have to deal with the sinus issue

I go for an annual check up due to a little scare with cancer a few years back, but for the most part I never go.
