Howdy From Afghanistan

Howdy everybody,

well I finally got around to adding myself to this site, in Afghanistan of all places. Currently deployed out of San Diego, USMC, and originally a born and bred Texan, getting out in less than a year and thinking about all the wonderful things I can do to improve my beautiful truck! Unfortunately I can't post any pictures as we have very limited access here (I was surprised I could get on this site) but rest assured, she's everything I could ever hope for!

Few mods I plan to put on her when I get back/out, lemme know what you think!

-Ranch Hand Summit Front and Rear end replacements

-Gibson exhaust or Corsa (don't think I really have the money for it though)

-BB tune or Bully Dog Gas Tuner 40410 (anyone know if you can do both? or which is better?)

-HIDs, all lights except high, of course

-AEM Cold Air

-Throttle Body Spacer

I have a few other wishes and dreams but those are the main ones for now..hope y'all are having a wonderful time back in the states and have a great Christmas!

Marry Christmas to you, and thank you for your service!

welcome soldier! thank you.

well the throttle body spacer is an absolute waste, and youll want a filter and exhaust before you get the tune.

Welcome! Thanks for your service fellow Texan.:D:D:cool::lol::):flag:

As for mods..... don't spend any time on a throttle body spacer. Serves no purpose on these engines. Tune... I think you might be more pleased with a BB tune and their autocal unit.

Welcome to the site, Thank you for your service and as others stated, everything sounds good except the throttle body spacer. Also, just go straight for the BB tune. Handhelds are good for what they are, but if you want the most power, the custom tune is what you want.

Thanks y'all for all the replies!

I've defintiely been doing my viewing through this website and have found a lot of real helpful information already but still have plenty more questions. I had already crossed out the throttle body spacer from what I've read in the forums before I came back to this post, and now I've heard so much about corsa and borla I'm not even sure about that anymore. It definitely helps with all the feedback already, so I appreciate it guys.

Get some time off and enjoy yourselves!

God Bless

ps - I'm a MARINE, not a soldier, =) but I appreciate the aknowledgement anyways!

My son did something that they said was impossible in the MRAP... When they trained on the vehicle the NCO in charge told them "You cannot hurt these things". My son promptly went out and destroyed the rear axles on one.. So much for that theory.. :nonod:
