when trading in your vehicle that has had a gear change from stock, do you normally leave the program intact that corrects the speedo or remove it? If I were to purchase a used truck from a dealer I'd want the speedo to be correct and not off by 5mph. Any thoughts?

Well, I'd want it right too especially if you did the gear swap. I'd leave the program in tact.

What type of program is it? I have an aggressive program in mine and I'll definitely be putting it back to stock when it's time to sell. But if it was mild and/or just for the ratio, I would leave it.

What are you looking to get?

Looking at a 2011 crew cab in Blue Granite Metallic. Can't decide on the Texas Edition 4X4 with 20" chrome clad wheels or the CC with Z71 package and 18" aluminum wheels. Wife likes Texas Edition ith chrome handles, chrome wheels, etc. I like the Z71 vehicle with 18" wheels, boy color door handles and grill with chrome inserts and leather. Still not decided yet.

Neither truck is on dealer lot, must do a dealer trade. Blue Granite is a hot color for Chevy right now which is Stealth Gray in the GMC. Had the 2011 GMC almost bought but didn't like the light titanium cloth interior and having to put aftermarket leather in it. The interior of the GMCs look a little different to me than the Silverados. The LTZs are really nice and they have some god incentives on the 2010s but a little more than what I wanted to spend, but that white diamond is an awesome color.

What gears did you install?

From the looks of your truck i'd guess 4.10s? If so, that's a factory option... so you can probably work it into the "deal" if you want to keep your programmer or whatever. Just tell the dealer that they'll need to have the service department reprogram the computer for the new gears so you can keep your programmer.

When i traded in my 05 i gave them my predator because it had 4.88 gears. Plus, the programmer wouldn't work on the 6.2L i was buying anyways.

I would leave the program in, just think it would be a selling feature haha. When ever i do get rid of mine my program is staying on it. Then again my program will not come off my truck anyways. Its kinda stuck on there

Nope, new truck comes with 20" Chrome clad wheels as part of the Texas Edition package, which wife likes better than the wheels on the Z71 pkg. Go figure.

Hope you are keeping the Gunner 6 wheels for the new truck!!!

It should look just like this truck except it is a 4X4 and not a 2WD or Z71. I think the Sierras have 6 spoke chrome wheels with the Texas Edition packages and the Silverado wheels have 5 spokes. http://images.lemonfree.com/3GCPCSE02BG158669_1.jpg
