Detailing Engine Bay

Hi everyone, just bought this truck(2006 Silverado) recently. The previous owner lived on a gravel road and it is super dusty and dirty! Any good tips on how to clean it? Should I go to the car wash and hose it down or do something else? What yould you all do?

Actually it's better to search the site using Google. Then used the advanced search. Then use "Search within a site or domain". Use "http://www.gm-trucks.com"

 

Your search will turn out more relevant threads

Well, I usually spray it out (I use a pressure washer at work, but my truck never is that dirty, so I just use the hose) with the pressure washer then spray a degreaser (grease grizzly, simple green, etc.) scrub what you can with a brush and then let it sit for a bit and spray it off. Then if you'd like take armor mist the entire bay, and shut the hood, don't wipe it down. Come back the next day open the hood and you'll crap your drawers.
