2010 Silverado Crewcab System Install!

why did you send it back? i kind of wish i got the JL stealth box. they're kind of pricy but i think its well worth it.

I stupidly, in a hurry, ordered a box for a crew cab instead of an extended cab. Pretty bummed when I went to

test fit it. :jester:

I really hoping that there is enough room on the top of it to mount my sub but it's not looking that way. I could have

sworn that I read somewhere that is possible. Otherwise, I have to rip my entire back seat out which sucks.

ohh man thats not good! waste of money! i wish i got that jl box instead of the sub thump

I know that there is a lot to like about the JL box but not enough to warrant it's cost, to me anyway.

All the speakers are going in tomorrow. Should be a fairly clean, easy install. Pictures to come.

if you think about it. its really not that much more. the sub thump is like 240? or something like that. and jl w3v3 are like 250 each. so really you'd only be spending ~50 bucks more then what you already spent

No, the Subthump box is only $115 and my current sub only cost me $100, back in '04.

my crew cab box was 160 plus shipping. it ended up being like 210 with tax i think

They must have changed the prices then because the cc box that I just got, instead of the ex cab box that I needed, was cheaper than my ex cab box. Ex cab is $115 the cc is $99. Both plus shipping of course.

Still waiting on them to send me the correct box. Look like I'll have to call them today because it shows as delivered, to them, yesterday.

I'm probably going to have to have the local car audio shop guru's take a look at making me some sort of adapters for the rear speakers. I'm just not any good with building things with wood, honestly, and I want it done right and for good this time.

Other than that I DO have a bunch of pictures of the speaker install that I have to get posted up here. Have to get them off my old phone as I just got my new one yesterday.

Hope the rebuild is going well! I was wondering if you can detail how you did the big 3/dual battery set up there. I didnt quite get it from what you wrote along with that pic of the batteries and the distribution block. Thanks.

Nm. I blew up the picture and could follow those wires better. Now it makes sense. It was throwing me because it looked like two wires were going into the fuse and i couldnt see where that wire from the stock positive battery was going to. Did you match the batteries?

no problem. Busy with the holiday i assumed. I was bored so i figured id look harder. THanks for the answer on the follow up question tho.

np. ohh yeah and the rebuild has been done for a while. i went with a complete new setup. i just need a security system for when I'm in cali again. and i wouldn't park it on the street overnight anymore neither

lesson learned right? Awful one to learn though. I dont think ill have a problem. Im hoping for nothing to appear more than stock. Not even doing a sub at this point. So well see.

yeah. you never know. i didn't figure they'd break into my truck. its was just a radio that you can see. but they scored when they found the subs too. this setup I'm bolting the box down so they can't just pull it out. i don't have a theft problem out here where i live in indiana. just in cali at my moms house.
