I dont think anyone has asked you this, sorry if i missed it. Did the push in clips need to be replaced when you put the door panels back? If so, is there a kit you bought?

I see what you mean by the Velcro. I suppose that would work. Technically, it would be better to bolt the holder directly to the chassis - screws are always stronger then something like Velcro. Especially if you ever need to swap out the battery. But in reality the Velcro will probably hold up since changing the battery every few years will require you to replace it.

Good luck.

arctictwist: The clips that hold the doors one are pretty good actually. Not like the kind the used back in the 80's, even the 90's, that were pretty much a one time use. I had no problem reusing them. Only thing I had to be careful of was when I Dynamatted the doors I have to cut not just the holes for the clips but a little bit of the area around them to make sure they would bottom out when I put the door back on.

velcro is fine, and I don't need to drill more holes into the truck, lol.

Those clips are really good, unlike the two in the headliner in the back that I had to wreck to remove.

Oh, I also found a post on another site that showed a switched 12v for the amp remote wire. Pop the fusebox in the driver's footwell and on the left side just up from the bottom is a post marked with a number 8. Verify with a VOM on your truck, but that is switched with the key for 12v. Worked for me :)

oh man!!! I finally got the line converter in the mail and hooked it up within minutes, so I could get my amp going. I was all excited and turned it on... and.... NOTHING - DEAD!

After I stopped cursing, I checked everything under the sun and found the new RCA cables were shorted - bitch! It figures, because I ran them all nice and hidden when the interior was out of the truck.

Oh well. Got a new cable and all is well :dunno: It's one hell of as sound for a single 12". I have it turned way down, and it fills in the system really well.

does the os4 use factory microphone for bluetooth/onstar or come with its own? I just got a new silverado and will be transferring my system from my tacoma. I have the same pioneer deck as yours that has bluetooth, but I'd much rather use the silverados than run the wiring for the pioneer mic and have it sticking somewhere. Also, i'm assuming you used the PAC SWI-PS for steering wheel controls. Did you have to program the individual buttons or just program the version?

I thought up of a little "invention" I plan on custom building for my radio that if I get it complete, I might just hit you up with the design if it turns out it works, but its going to look like you have no radio at all and will have a black plastic piece that you can slide in and out of the front after taking off the detachable head unit.

Here's one made to look like AC vents

Hmmm good idea, looks cheap though, and how many criminals know about this lol, might consider if I cant build my custom application

Or if you are paranoid... the guy selling now knows where good systems are.

Skank, did you use the pioneer's bluetooth or keep using the silverado's? my OS4 will be here this week, was wondering if the bluetooth steering wheel controls would answer and hang up using the pioneer's bluetooth.

great to hear! hope your insurance company was easy to work with thru the ordeal. I got my 8200BT installed today with the xm receiver. Everything seems to work fine. I ended up having to pull off the brown connector on the factory xm antenna to plug into the pioneer receiver. I need to find an extension cable so i can run it under the seat. Steering wheel controls seem to be working ok. Programming them was a pain in the ass though. i'm probably going to use the pioneer bluetooth also. I programmed one of the steering wheel controls thats supposed to answer an incoming call. I'll let you know if it works.

yeah it should work fine. it was a pain to program it for me also. now im having problems with this new os4. defective i belive. the insurance wasnt too bad to deal with. it was just the wait period. its been a few months and my truck is barely getting back to 100%. i just ordered and recieved the dash bezel yesterday from gmpartsdirect. guess what. SCRATCHED! now i have to send it back and wait again. i also ordered a color matched dash kit. fitment was horrible on it. this is the second one ive ordered so far. looks like im going to have to order yet another one.

Well, as long as the O.P. doesn't have any issues with it, I could post some pictures of my audio system install steps as well, as I go. I am only replacing the stock speakers and adding my old sub and amp to this truck but again, if the O.P. don't mind, and peeps don't mind reading it, I can post some more pics as well.

I'm going to start with the speakers this Sunday as some round head (me) ordered a sub box for a CC instead of an EC so back to Subthump it goes. That means no sub install for another week, easy.

Let me know what ya'll think.
