Taillight Trouble

Recently the driver's rear turnsignal bulb blew, replaced the bulb, was good for a day or two and now the new bulb wont light and the mirror LEDs and front blinker are blinking extra fast. Did a quick check of the wiring, only "issue" I found was a spliced in connector for the brake light on a cap I believe the truck had at some point before I bought it. I removed that wiring even though it should not have been a conflict.

Question is anyone have some specific places to look before I go digging around blind? Any "known issues"? I am not really up on these trucks yet but I am suspecting a wire is damaged somewhere based on the symptoms.

I know this is not really electronic but I did not see a forum for electrical, if I missed it or a moderator feels this is better located elsewhere please do move it.

Thanks

Possibly a damaged bulb from the box? When a bulb is out the blinkers on that side will blink fast due to a drop in resistance. This is what tells you that you have a bulb out. Try another bulb.

I did take the bulb back out and inspect it, looked fine, but you are right I should try simple first and swap it out before digging too deep elsewhere.
