I looked around in the forums and found one about 100K maintenance, but wasn't clear on what all was recommended at 100K. Can anyone tell me what GM recommends at 100K?

1.)Coolant flush?

2.)Thermostat replace?

3.)Brake Fluid flush?

4.)Transmission/Transaxle flush?

5.)Plugs?

6.)Plug wires?

Anything else?

Thanks!

i would personally only do coolant flush.... i have a 2003 suburban 5.3 with 158,000 miles and i have NEVER replaced any of that stuff.. still rides perfect. i would save your money for when your fuel pump goes or your trans becasue they usually dont last too long over 100k. my plugs and wire are original and still in perfect working order.

On what basis are you saying the transmissions dont last too long over 100K? I have never heard this. Do you have actual data or is this your personal observation? Unless someone is abusing the tranny there is no reason it would fail that early.

I agree, follow the owners manual, change plugs at 160,000km, rad flush at least once every 3-5yrs max, leave plug wires till you have an issue, you can check them for corrosion on the every couple of years, etc.

Preventative maintenance is great, saves you money in long run, but if it is running well leave it alone. Spend your bucks on something usefull.
