depends on what genres you enjoy...the great thing about pc gaming is that you have access to almost any title, your not denied because you don't have a certain console...downfall computer need to be updated every 2 years or so which can be blunt force to the wallet

Pretty much what jro said, I personally am running a custom built rig with an Intel Q6600 Quad Core and one of the original 1 GB (512x2) GPU Cards, ie: Radeon HD 3870 X2. Problem is the rig is a little over 3 years old and for all intents, it's outdated though it will still run the vast majority of games out there as long as there's not a lot of processes running in the background. For instance, I run Brink on the Highest Settings and have little to no lag with constant 40+ FPS. Not too bad for something that's outdated.

I'll likely be looking at rebuilding it by the end of the year or so but to be honest, I have gone the opposite route you have. Bought a PS3 about 8 weeks ago and am enjoying the hell out of the new Mortal Kombat and MLB 2011 The Show plus have the new Duke Nukem on preorder. Those games look amazing on that system and a 58" Samsung Plasma.

The problem with PC game now a days is that the games are getting too big for the pc unless you have a mega computer, thats why I went to a xbox 360 plus too many cheaters on pc games with all the cheats you can download on a pc.

See i got a 23" l.e.d screen with windows 7, 64bit quad core processor, 6gb ddr3 memory, 1tb hard drive, and a ATI Radeon HD 1024mb. So the computer should handle some of the new games these days haha. I kinda got bored of call of duty, not really into that. I kinda like the one that have to do with aliens and stuff like that. Something like halo.

Keep an eye out for Diablo 3 and the new oblivion game too if you're into rpg style games. I think Diablo 3 is coming out sometime this year but you know how Blizzard is with their release dates.

Yeah i keep checking up on diablo 3. They said it would have been out by last summer or this year and it keeps getting pushed off

Supposedly blizzard is going to try and release it on xbox 360 and PS3. I don't know how well that would work since I have always been used to the computer style controls for it, but if its good I'm tempted to try and get a 360 for it and oblivion since it I don't have the money to build a new computer. There are some more titles I think I'd like on the 360 too so I'll have to see what happens I guess.

I like older generation PC games. That way I can pick them up cheap (Usually around $20 instead of $50), and by then I don't need a cutting edge computer to play them on.

I just finished GTA:SA, and started GTA4. Since it's an older game, I'm able to have all of the visual quality settings at their highest levels on a modest machine.

The older games are every bit as fun now as when they were brand new, plus I don't have to worry about waiting for patches, most of the bugs have already been patched.

PC gaming can be an expensive hobby. i built a new computer in january and what started out as a modest $800 build quickly ballooned into a $1700 build. the upgrade-bug can bite you pretty easily; "i'll just reuse my headphones, i'm still happy with them"...two weeks later "these are the only thing remaining from my previous build, might as well spring for that $200 pair i've been eyeing."

as far as games go, i've sunk a lot of time into Bad Company 2. it's played best with a beer or four.

diablo dosen't have a release date, its already what over a decade over due? the rumor is that blizzard is releaseing a possible beta for it at the end of the year, needless to say we could all be dead from old age by the time it is released...hell they pumped up starcraft ghost for years then dropped the axe on it

I think they'll actually get diablo 3 done though as opposed to Starcraft ghost. It probably was the beta I was thinking of being released. I almost forgot about minecraft too as a good computer game. Its nothing fancy but its a lot of fun to play.
