How about yall's brake spindles? Are they rusted?

They're cast iron. Its going to get surface rust. It won't hurt anything.

That would cover surface rust as in the body, not the frame, at least I do not think so. I've yet to ever encounter a truck that did not show signs of light rust on the underside frame after the first major rain storm it went through.

I have this rust, rattles in the dash, strange noises under the dash when I accelerate, whats next. I've been a GM fan all my life and who knows, maybe ford and Dodge have the same issue now. But it sure does piss a guy off when a new truck has these issues. My 2006 Colorado has no rust at all. I, unlike most,.. I actually use the 4X4 weekly and my first two months of owning a new GM product I'm thinking what the hell has happened to GM. I have never had a problem with painting rusty parts when time created corrosion, but in under 3K miles, are you kidding me??? I live in California with moderate climate, but not near the ocean with salt air.

2011 GMC Z71 4X4, love the new truck, but am very dissapointed in new GM quality,...

+1. My '08 SD looks like someone sprayed the entire rear diff/suspension with orange paint. I ended up hitting it with the wire brush, and slopping on black Tremclad. My '00 had 6x the mileage, and looked better underneath when I sold it. :(

It does not cover surface rust. I had this issue on the hood of my 2002 Bonneville. When I went to my dealer to get it warrantied I was told it is a rust through warranty and until that happens GM will not cover it.
