Climate Control Going To Recirculate On Its Own

I have a NBS 07 GMC sierra SLE1 with the manual AC controller. For some reason it started going to recirculate on its own when the AC is on. I pushed the button for it to go off of recirculate but it just blinks at me and stays where it is.

Any idea why this is happening?

It is just a feature. When the air is really hot it will automatically kick on the recirculate to move the air faster, and cool the vehicle faster. It eventually switches back to normal mode itself.

Same here. AUTO/dual climate control. Usually mine takes in outside air when it's hot, which makes no sense. I always have to hit the recirc button manually. Done that since day 1.

odd, i have the manual A/C and i like mine to stay on recirculate, but everytime i get out of the truck, then go back and turn it on, the button to pull air from the outside is on, so everytime i start the car i have to push the recirculate button! its really annoying

Same here, the dealer suggested using only the recirculate due to the high humidity here in Houston so I always have to change it when I get in the truck.

The majority of HVAC designs of the past 10 years have a feature implemented that will automatically cycle the recirculation door to "fresh air mode" after a certain period of time. This is actually a safety feature. If you are embarking on a long drive and you leave your vehicle in "recirculation" mode you will eventually lower the amount of oxygen in the cabin. This it will eventually, on it's own, cycle to "fresh air mode". So you have nothing to worry about.
