A/c Auto Feature

Who here uses the Auto feature on the A/C? How does it work? Is there a temperature sensor somewhere in the cab? The manual is pretty vague with this feature. It's nice not always having to adjust the fan speed. Thanks in advance.

I always leave mine on auto and just adjust the temp up or down a couple degrees. Works great for me.

It can be a little annoying when it's really hot out and it keeps the fan on high for too long.

I always use mine. Kind of a set-it and forget-it kind of deal for me. It seems to work okay for all heat and a/c settings, except there is another button on the HVAC control panel to switch it to windshield defroster. There is a little plastic sensor in the headliner near the driver's head; I believe that's where the temperature sensor is located.

I don't use it as the system seems to prefer to use the dash vents only and I like cool air at my feet in this weather so I run it in manual mode on dash/floor.

I use it almost exclusively. I also find that it blows on high for too long, in very hot weather. But I still like it.

And dual climate zones are the best thing since the wheel.

I have to agree that it does sometimes go at a high speed for a long time but it is handy not having to keep adjusting the fan speed. I was just curious how many people actually used it.

I'm not a big fan (no pun intended). It just blows full blast from the upper vents the whole time while my legs stay warm. The temperature differential from that makes me uncomfortable, so I never use it.

I think the better question is who doesn't use it?

I've had it in every car since 1985 except one..

set it and forget it..

I keep mine on 72 degrees never touch it.. if I get a bit chilly I put on the seat heater, if it's a bit to warm the seat cooler.. I haven't touched the HVAC controls in the 10 months I've owned the truck.

at first I didn't care for it, but I've grown accustom to it.

yeah it's annoying when the interior is really hot and the fan runs on high for a few minutes, but it's doing what it's supposed to do - trying to get the temp to your set temp as quickly as possible. I like how it turns the fan down automatically when my bluetooth is activated, so I'm not worried about having to fiddle with it when I have an incoming call. I have mine set on 72* and rarely touch it.

I HATE it. :thumbs::help:

First thing when I get in it'll blow 10,000 CFM of air on me. Then after a while it'll turn the air all but off. Or it decides I don't need the defrost on anymore. :thumbs: I just like the stream of 72° air blowing on me.

Honestly?? I can't stand it. I only got the auto system so that the gf had the ability to control her own temperature setting, that's it. I want the degree of air that I want, where I want it and in fresh air or recirc mode as I so choose.

It will do the same thing in manual mode, fwiw.
