So has the trans started slipping yet???

I kid... I kid... I love the new Rams. They keep looking better and better with every redesign. If all the Chevy's I've had hadn't been such great trucks I'd consider one, but my next truck will be another silverado/sierra.

believe me, i'll post here first if it ever does.

edit:

a little update on the new tires -

1) i've gone through my first full tank of gas and my fuel economy has gone down by about 1mpg. i expected to take a hit, i can live with 1mpg.

2) we've had a few cold nights recently and i noticed that in the morning when i leave for work it feels like the tires are flat-spotting overnight. i've gone in and talked to Les Schwab and they were surprised that they're doing that. they've ordered a new set for me and i'm going in this afternoon to get them replaced. hopefully this solves the problem.

I've had a few tires that did that and never thought a thing of it. Hell, on the first page on an F-150 manual it has a disclaimer stating that it is normal for that to happen.

jesus i didn't notice that. just went out and checked them...the dipshit alignment shop left both sides completely loose. thank you for pointing that out Matt, owe ya one.

edit: took it to a different shop about a quarter mile from my place, had them re-align and get it right. went back to the original shop (Meineke) and got a refund. i won't be going back there ever again. just goes to show you have to check people's work. thanks again for your eagle-eyes Matt.

You gotta watch some of those chain-type places like Meineke, Jiffy Lube, etc. They hire just about any shmuck with a set of tools.

About 6 years ago, My local Firestone Dealer installed a new front brake assembly (Rotors, Calippers, pads). 2 days after I got my truck back The right-front Calliper about went through the wheel @65mph on the Highway. I almost became a Hood ornament on a Peterbilt!

I'm glad you didn't end up the same way!

the shitty goodyears they replaced never did it, they rode great all the time. i've got my new set of Toyo's on now and they seem fine...though it was not a very cold night last night.

You gotta watch some of those chain-type places like Meineke, Jiffy Lube, etc. They hire just about any shmuck with a set of tools.

jesus that sounds bad, and you're right my lesson learned here is that you have to check these guys. it was indeed a lucky catch. what's funny is i posted that pic on several Ram forums as well...took the GM guys to catch it

My gut got an instant twist in it when I saw the picture of the tie rod end jamb nut loose but thank goodness that somebody else caught it that quick because you probably wouldn't have made it until now without at least a ton of tire wear, if not worse, before I would have warned you about it now.

for the record... I didn't own a GM when I noticed the tie rod. so I guess we can say that a Jeep guy caught it first.

Agreed....To bad they are no longer making them. They actually have "real" 4x4 available as an option, great system. Would be nice if GM had a 4x4 system like that available for the trucks and SUV's. Would be nice to know that all 4 wheels are locked.

My dad owns a 2010 ram and there are some things I definatly like about it. Dual trailer plugs, the outlet in the cab, larger cab oh and as much as I love my vortec, I wish the 5.3 had power closer to that of the hemi (yes I know there is the 6.0 and the 6.2, but still). Oh and the factory dual exhaust, although I think it could have a bit more growl to it.
