Auto temp controls on 2003 Silverado "LT"

Does anyone else feel that way?  I have a 2003 Silverado 4X4 with the LT package, yep all the little electronic gadgets.  Anyway it has the automatic dual controls for the temperature.  Anyone else have it & hate them like I do?  You can't just blow in regular outside air on a "Vent" setting.  It has to be a certain temp.  If it is warmer inside than what temp you specify & it is warmer than 40 degrees outside, it kicks on the AC to cool it down a bit inside.  It is a major pain in the @$$.  I WANT MY 3 DIALS BACK, fan, temp, & selection for AC, defrost, heater, vent..... You get the idea.

OK done ranting.

I have the same  problem with my '02 sierra LT.  What a pain in the azz.  I've had it for a few months now, so I'm used to it.  But, I agree.  NO NEED for A/C in the winter. :puke: My wife has an Audi A6 with dual climate control.  It rocks.  never had a problem with it.  What makes me mad is that my truck cost just as much as her car.

Just curious, does the auto climate control have a dedicated Recirculate button/function?  Or do you have to turn the temp way down (like I had to in an older LeSabre)?  I have allergies to hydrocarbons and live/drive in the city and so find that I always have to use Recirc on the manual systems.

My wifes Honda van has that feature.  I don't care for it very much.  However on her van I can leave it in auto but shut off the AC, or I can run it in full manual.

Knowing most of GM's "automatic" climate controls worked that way, that's the one major piece of electronic options I specifically didn't get w/ my 03!!

Bummer guys!!  :puke:

When I hit the center button, I think, the recirc button, the compressor turns off and I don't get cold air.
