There building them now buddy :) We've been receiving 2012's for the last couple months.

They already have and there are even some on the lot in middle of nowhere Canada where I live. There really isn't anything that exciting, some silverados get a HD style grill and some sierras have chrome three bar grills, same as the old black on with chrome bars, personally think it looks terrible. Other than that it is stuff like hard drive navigation, heated and cooled seats, trailer sway control.

2012 models starting in August and are already on dealer lots.

Model year 2012 is not the new generation. 2014. Check out the K2xx area here.

I have had 1 on order for over 5 months and still NO truck so I don't know what GM is doing.

I have owned GM trucks since 2000 and have been overall very happy with them but taking this long to build a truck is 1 of the most frustrating things that I have been through. The main issue with me is NOT knowing what the holdup is

In the past,on the '91,'94 and '97 trucks I special ordered, they took 4-5 months to be built and delivered, but on the '07 I ordered it only took 2 months from the time we ordered it until the time it was delivered (ordered Jan.10th,arrived Mar.13th)

The last couple trucks I had a hand in special ordering here at the dealership, for friends of mine, they also only took around 2 months.

Do you have the 6 digit order number? If so put it in here and you can track your order...GM connects

October, I ordered my truck and it took 6 weeks to take delivery. I didn't think that was to bad

I'll add that my Camaro only took 5 weeks,we ordered it Jan.14th,it was built Feb.2nd.,and arrived Feb.11th.

Heres a shot of it on the carrier.....

No,not bad at all, thats about the norm now, however back in the '90's,for whatever reason,it took what seemed like forever to get a special ordered vehicle in.

I didn't think my '97 K1500 ext.cab was ever going to show up! with all the restrictions on certain options I ordered, then the CAW went on strike,it took from Aug.24th when we initially put the order in,until Mid-Feb. before it finally showed up!

I have been tracking on GM connects since the start. The truck was originally ordered as a 2011 toward the end of June and never moved in the system. I finally was told that the truck would not be built (GM failed to pull the order) and I ordered a 2012. The 2012 had a TPW of first week of Sept. then went backwards in the process and has just set there. I was finally told this past week that it now has a TPW of 10-24. It just seems a very unsatisfactory amount of time. I could understand maybe a volt camaro or vette, but a pickup???

It is a 1500 extended cab SLT with the Max Package and Brake controller. If GM would say what the hold up was then it would be a littler better but I still find it unsatisfactory.

If you are looking for a 2012 Brochure all you have to do is a google search.

Could be there is a hold on a certain item (wheels, etc). I know when I ordered my 2000 I got it in just before they had a 6 wk hold due to the 16" aluminum wheel availability. There was a site that would state what holds were currently on vehicles. I think it was www.wheels.com, just checked and there are no holds, 10-12 week lead time.

Here is some info
