1500 Vs 2500 Bumper On Nbs Silverado

Does anyone know if the bumpers and side pieces on a 2500HD and a 1500 are the same? This for a 2008 Silverado, and I'm wondering if I could swap the too-much-chrome pieces of the HD's for the body color ones of the 1500's. Thanks!

pretty sure someone on here switched their 1500 bumper for the 2500. someone else will chime in soon

No they wont fit as the HD sides are bigger.

why not just paint your chrome ones?

Been done many times. You can swap the entire front end if you want. Search GM-Fullsize.

only way to do it is to replace the entire bumper, grille, and hood. cheaper to paint it IMO.

Not so. The end caps will mount up the same as the 1500's do. The only thing is you might have to adjust the front bumper down a hair. IIRC, some guys bought HD bumper mounts and some others were able to adjust the factory 1500 mounts.

Look here for aftermarket gmt-900 bumper "gills" end caps.

Primered and ready to paint $22 bucks each !

Thanks everyone for the answers! I'm going to keep my eyes open for a roll over at a junkyard. I couldn't bring myself to paint over the stock chrome ones, even though it is too much chrome IMO.

Thanks for the link! I would have thought those bumper end caps would have cost a lot more. That might be my best option.

Remember those in the link are aftermarket NOT GM!

I suppose that the GM OE pieces are a LOT more than $22 bucks.
