Brand New Truck - Problem #1

Hello friends! This is my 1st post. Just got my 2011 crew cab z71 4x4, which has been a dream of mine for the better half of my life. Looked down at the inside door panel and noticed a small slice in the vinyl, right next to the door lock. Upon further inspection, I noticed the panel itself was not aligned properly along the top edge. I continued to inspect the panel and found that the clips that hold it to the door were not al properly seated. I pushed them in, but the upper edge is still out of alignment. So, I took it to the dealer and they say that the entire panel must be replaced.

My question is, Is this an invasive procedure? I am big time OCD, and if the repair shows any sign of molestation, I will obsess over it. This is just a buzz killer in a sense. I would love to hear your thoughts.

Congrats on the new truck. Now.... Relax... the door panel is very easy to replace. I'm sure the dealership will fix you up. :)

And... Welcome.

Yep - very simple removal. A couple hidden screws & mostly push clips. Remove screws & giver a yank - comes right off.

simple, I have taken a door panel off in about 5 mins.

I have had our Silverado and Tahoe door panels off to replace the outside mirrors to turn signals. Never caused an issue.
