With this heater control post-87526-0-41615700-1321663982.jpg I don't like that you have to take your eyes off the road to adjust it.

Or your just guessing if you don't.

Yes and to make it worse they put it down low on the dash so you completely lose sight of the road. Not to mention that the buttons are tiny and not well defined and almost impossible to operate by feel.

I'm spoiled by the simple 3 knob system in my Challenger and even the Jeep with automatic control has knobs you can operate by feel. Some might call that an antiquated design but it is only a heat/cool system. Why do the designers insist on making it so complicated?

Exactly, the simple one that was in my 88 Silverado (owned it for 8yrs) was much better and there was no guessing while ajusting it while driving.

don't have the issue, set it on auto and forget it.. during the summer it was on 72° now it is on 76° and I turned off the A/C button, but still in auto mode.

if I'm a bit too cold pop on the seat heater, a bit too hot the seat cooler.. I don't think I have touched the HVAC controls 10 times in the year I've owned it.

I get what your saying, but Its never been an issue for me. I set it and I leave it :dunno:

I've never been able to make the auto function work how I'd want- if it isn't directing air away from where I want it, the fan is blowing at supersonic speeds. Honestly, I'd rather have the dial setup- this thing backs off when it makes temp and even if the cab is a reasonable temperature, you get cold-feeling with the cool air blowing on you. It's beginning to get cool here and sometimes I just want damn constant heat. Right now I have to raise it to like 75, then I get warm so I turn it down, then I get cold so it goes up again and so on.

All that said though, I really don't have many issues with it as I set fan speed and vent before taking off and the temp adjustment is easy enough to do while driving still.

the three simple knobs on my '07 serve me well, my friend just bought a '10 gmc ccsb with those controls, and i hate them.

My wife laughs at me because I'm constantly cursing the auto climate control in my truck. I absolutely hate that thing and how it does what it wants instead of what I want it to do.

love the simple 3 dial setup on mine. sometimes designers heads are just up the wrong spot :fume:

I think that automatic climate control is the greatest thing ever. I hated the manual system in my 2001 Sierra and 2007 H3. You are constantly playing with it. With the auto systems you just set the temp and never touch it again. You can even shut off the passenger control and you don't have to adjust two temps. Mine stays on 72F all the time.

I tried it again today. Can someone explain the logic of this damn unit to me? It is like 45 degrees out, I set the temp to 72, it dumps all the air to the floor and turns on the AC? I don't get it. I really doubt I'd ever buy another vehicle with this stupid crap if I can help it.
