LED Bulb caused problem

2010 GMC Sierra SLE Crewcab

 

I purchased a set of interior light bulbs on eBay (yes I know it was dumb!) and installed 2 of them in the overhead console. When I press the button to turn on the bulbs, they don't work as expected. When I press the button to turn on the left front map light, the rear bulbs go out. Hmmm!

 

I immediately removed the LED bulbs, but I am having interior light problems. No map lights front or rear. No lights on seat heater control panel. Some sort of computer issue caused by the LED bulbs?

Have you checked any fuses?

 

I have LED's in my overhead lights nad have had zero issues.

Maybe a fuse poped? Put the factory bulbs back and if it's still broke.... back to the dealer and leave it stock. If it were me.

I dont see how a bulb is going to cause this unless maybe the bulb was defective and have the ground and positive points touching??

There is nothing wrong with buying led's off ebay either... I have bought a lot of leds on there... in fact just ordered a bunch more panels for my dads truck and moms equinox.

 

Like others said, check the fuse. If not, put stock bulbs back in and take it into dealer.

Thanks Guys. So, it appears to be some sort of computer issue. The lights go on when the doors are open, but will not turn on with the 4 push buttons. I have replaced the LED with the factory bulbs with no change. No burnt fuses I can see. The indicator lights on my heated seats do not turn on now, but the seat heaters function properly. That is why I am guessing a computer issue. Going to get the dealer to put a scan tool on and see what is up. Very strange...
