I had a GoRhino guard on the front of my 99 that was black...the bottom horizontal tube had rusted through by the time I sold the truck in Sept of 07.

im sorry but that is one of the ugliest things i have ever seen

I dont think that is what he was asking.

As for the OP's question... I had a Westin front guard, powder coated black, and it held up well for years while I had the truck, However, living on the West Coast of Canada, we dont have very harsh winters,

the topic starters leave it open to ANY comments on here, mc, even if they are not topic based. I agree, it looks ugly. That being said, the nice thing about black is that you can always spray paint it when it starts to fade. Can't do that with chrome when it starts to scratch up.

ok if it is the ugliest thing you ever seen, then what would, if you were to, install to hold auxillery lights that is not a hugh piece of metal hanging off the bumper?

you didnt say anything about lights in your first post. i know they make better looking bars to mount lights on, i have seen them on this forum.

look at the one oldschool posted a link to, that looks awesome.

bought one of those, they claim they fit the NBS trucks but beware they send you the wrong part, it was for the old body style truck. they were nice about it, and refunded my money. tried bull bars in the past.

yea i am looking to go with the rigid industries D2's or a larger bar?

They fit the 900 series just fine, you have to order or recieve, the correct part though which from previous post was your problem. Other members had no problems mounting them.

Bar on members 900 series,

What's wrong with big hunks of metal on the front of the truck? I suppose you could mount lights to them, but you could prolly find a bull bar that's already set up for lights and save some trouble.
