HID kit recommendations?

I currently have silverstar ultra's in my '08 sierra, which are ok, but im looking for the HID look. I have seen some ok kits on different sites, but i haven't heard from anyone who actually has had them for more than a month or so. I would like to do the driving lights and the fog lights. Anyone have any they like and would recommend?

I have ordered and installed 8 different kits from www.ddmtuning.com and had pretty good luck with them. They have a lifetime warranty on their ballast and bulbs. If you decide to order from them just expect to wait a few days to get them...the last three times I've ordered they came straight from overseas. Also, for my foglights I had to order a harness to go from the factory plug to the new HID ballast. If you are interested, PM me and I'll send you the link. Also, stick with a 35 watt kit for the fogs due to heat issues and potentially causing damage to the housing. I have the 5000k kit in my low beams and fog lights and they are impressive.

Last note, prepare to get laid into by some members about the legality of HID's.

Myself and a lot of my buddies all have VVME kits. No issues, fairly cheap, and available online or any of the local ricers..

i ordered high beams and fog light HID bulbs for 30 bucks each on ebay... had them for a year now and they are holding great even in the harsh cold, snow and rain. way brighter then stock

Welcome...and nice Truck! Like the all black front and the wheels. Powder coated??

I have the DDM's and mine have worked flawlessly although only 8 months old. I have the 55W 5k's and the are awesome. I have them adjusted lower so I'm not shinning oncoming traffic. Occasionally I get someone flash at me but I had the same when I had silverstars in. If you search you will find a couple that complain about DDM's but some will complain about free money just so they can complain. As a recommendation, I would pull the DRL fuses to save the ballast's. Not sure if they will fail but I just followed others with this. There are some that don't, just my personal preference.

Thanks for the reply's, and with some more research it seems so far that most people enjoy their DDM's, and they seem to be the best for the price. Ill still b looking for a few days though before i order though. And uh6tdrvr, thanks for the compliment, everything that is not black from the factory was sprayed with plasti-dip. It looks like flat paint, but it can be peeled off as though it were never there, pretty cool stuff.

how well has the plastidip been holding up on the wheels? i'd like to do the same thing but i've heard some worried about how it would hold up on wheels

much to my surprise, they have held up great! Did them about 2 months ago, took them on a 3,000 mile roadtrip through salt, snow, rain, mud and everything else the road had. They have been pressure washed and scrubbed, and no problems. If you do it, just make sure you do a few coats to put it on thick so you can peel it off in large pieces when the time comes. Also, it comes in colors online. all the above went for the bumpers and grille as well. Good Luck!

Could you post a direct pic of them from the side?

ok, my next question, to all the ddm fans, exactly what setup did you put in your trucks. 35 or 55 watt? slim or standard ballasts? relays or harnesses? Im hoping after this thread, that i can order once and get all the right parts (never happens for me)

thanks again

here is that shot you asked for. wish i could have washed them first, but its 17 degrees outside, so that just wasnt happening. If you decide to do it, check out some vids on YT first. i taped off the tires, and i think it would have been easier not to. so here you go!
