Hey....

This question may be for Walt...or anyone that knows

Did Advent change the OGM 1 in any way to accept the IGO primo??

Will this new nav software work flawlessly on any OGM 1??

Tony

When we get the official word on how to acquire iGo Primo, I will definitely post it here.

If your main complaint is the navi, it will transform your unit!

Question for iGO Primo Users: At initial start up, what screen mode (day or night) is your map at? Mine is always in Nighttime mode no matter what time of day. The program is supposed to go by the time of day as provided by the GPS signal and adjust the color mode accordingly, yet no matter what setting I choose prior to shutting the unit down, it always starts back up in nighttime mode(very annoying)! Also has anyone checked the GPS status screen? 90% of the time mine shows no satellites, yet shows accuracy high :dunno: This may account for the altitude indicator not working correctly as well. My GPS antenna is placed in the dash where the factory antenna would be.

I have used iGO Primo on my Phone and never seen these issues.

Mine is the same. I was just messing with it. Always reverts to night. I can go to settings and hit day colors and it goes to day until I turn it off.

I seem to have fixed the lag issue. With the sd card out it was great. I ejected the sd card and reinserted it and all seems to be fine. Station up, volume up down, and source control aren't laggy any more. The iPod art seems to come up 95% with nav off 100% with nav on. The night issue is not cool. And how can I get all the blue poi icons to show what they really are. The only ones that work are some quick trips, all bp's, a couple of murphys and one hardees.

I noticed this as well. The only way I could figure out what they are is to touch and hold then hit the selection to navigate to.

I noticed the same thing too, so I did a litle digging and found that almost all the parameters that control startup behavior, colors, defaults, etc. are just lines of text in a normal text file.

I'm out of town right now and don't have access to the files, but when I get back tomorrow, I'll fill you in on how to modify some of this stuff.

And it goes without saying:

If you attempt to modify ANYTHING on your map SD card, YOU DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!

BACK IT UP BEFORE YOU EVEN LOOK AT IT!

I CAN'T BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY MISTAKES!!!

I wouldnt go modifing files! My unit does not do this. I would start by making sure that your light sensor is working correctly in the dash. Ill go thru my settings to see if something is different or ? my unit switches as it should. Ill report back tonight. Quick queshtion do all of you with issues have tinted windows? I know when I tinted mine that my lights would click on alot sooner than normal.

I have noticed that my OGM1 stays on the dim setting most of the time, and I made the assumption that it was because of my tinted windows. Have not yet updated to iGo Primo...

it may also depend on the weather outside. i have absolutely no problems with mine dimming. the only time during the day its in night mode is when i'm under an overpass or in my parking garage at work. tinted windows and all (not the windshield though)

    • .30” of rain all month and it’s been weeks since that. “Mowed” our two properties today for the first time since July 2nd. It only took 30 minutes because all I had to do was level some weeds and saplings in a few problem areas. Everything else is dead.
    • Dealer reported a failed shifter module assembly so the whole shifter is getting replaced. Yet another premature repair… up to $12,000+ in extended warranty payout in only 5 years and 80,000 miles!
    • According to the dealer it’s an internal leak/failure of the compressor.  Again, another failure that shouldn’t happen at only 5 years and 80k miles.  For some reason the compressors must be hard to come by right now, because the truck’s been at the dealer almost a week and they just located a compressor at another dealer several states away today.  We’ll see if this fixes the issue.
    • I'm not sure if this should be a reply on this thread or a new topic, let me know if it's out of place. This my first post. Thanks 85077522 - ACDelco GM Genuine Parts Brake Master Cylinders. Anyone else had to replace this brake master cylinder yet. I didn't do any brake work, it looks like new parts and I've had the truck for about 4k miles. When it started to throw codes I did the calibrations with a bidirectional scanner and got the codes to clear but they came back so i did the routine; base bleed, automated bleed and final base bleed. All that with Bosch ES16-32N fluid (please look it up). That seemed to fix it but 100ish miles later it failed again so I ran the same process but with a pressure bleeder this time and got the same results, fixed for 100ish miles. The original fluid looked bad and I thought I got most of it out. The codes; P25A2, C05B0-00, C2A1B. I can get them to clear but not for long. The C05B0 indicates a leak in the front circuit (which is bone dry) so I'm thinking of doing the bleed process on that front again today and I don't know if that's taboo to just do the front but at this point it seems like it's worth the try anyway. The new master cylinder/module unit is supposed to get here today. But now I'm pretty much convinced this install is over my head. I've called several shops and some mobile guys that I know but this thing is like radio active material scary wise. I did get 2 local shops say they should be able to do it, one says he has the SPS2 programing capability. And with the battery disconnected is there supposed to be pedal resistance, mine is to the floor, then if I pump it I can get some resistance.
    • I wasn’t commenting on your post. Certainly wasn’t arguing. I was making an observation on my long term experience with supposedly proper length of driving for proper heat cycles. Works for me. Although I have seen water or vapor come out of exhaust when vehicles weren’t run very long and shut off. It’s very humid in the morning. Then hot and humid.
