How do you know? If the new trucks are not superior to the 900's, then GM is in big trouble.

because they are a proven platform, and number 2 or 3 of best selling vehicles in america since they came out. you are correct about that, but to assume that GM would for some reason come out with a redesigned truck that no one likes or is somehow "inferior" to the 900 platform is just not smart.

and i would definatley stay away from AWD. my friend got a 2005 sierra denali a while back and obviously he cant drift or do donuts or burnouts when we go drive around and he regrets buying an AWD truck

Too many options to choose from. I ruled out the Denali......Gonna get a SLT/LTZ. Like the Sierra fronts better than the Chevys. Or should I wait til another year & just wait til the new Gen comes out? I want opinions what you guys would do....

Wait a year. Right now the GMT900's are the oldest and most outdated trucks out there (between the Big 3).

Yup, they are due for a style change. Interior mostly. Even though I like mine and don't want anything really fancy, it's a little "old" looking compared to some.........Really want to see how improved the new models will be.

You don't have to wait ya know. There are other choices/brands to choose from with the newer technology available now.

Who buys a vehicule to sell it? And who buy's trucks for an inverstment? I got right around 12K off the MSRP on my 2010 leftover. IMO if the deals is right, there is a need for it and if you can find one that fits why wait? 1.5-2 years from now you should be at the break even or have some positive equity in it to trade up if you want.

true, but if you plan on keeping the truck for a long time then it would be a good idea

Right now? Not much. I liked the previous gen trucks much better and I do have hope that the next gen trucks will be light years better. The 900's were developed during GM's worst years ever.
