Gonna get a 6.2 & needs help?

I have a 2011 Silverado black on black, LTZ every option and 6.2L i love the truck. I had the same problem as you when trying to decide between this truck and a Denali... I finally settled on this because I prefer having a choice between 2/auto/4lo/4hi and the sleek fast all black front end of my truck. I now have 10xxxKm on the truck and have yet to have any problems with it other than having to get my window checked out for making chatter at high speeds.

What is it about GM trucks that you do like???

Right now? Not much. I liked the previous gen trucks much better and I do have hope that the next gen trucks will be light years better. The 900's were developed during GM's worst years ever.

I understand that but, I don't see any issues with mine that would keep me from buying another. Telling someone that they suck and because the technology is old, that they should look at the other two of the big three doesn't help. If the OP wants to hear about Ford or Dodge wouldn't you think he would get the best info on them on one of their forums?? Lets talk about GM :driving:

You can tell him whatever you want, and I will give the advice/opinions I want. Fair enough?

and to add, there may be many Silverados out on the road... but start checkin out the tail pipes...very rare to see one sticking straight out the back.

I also like this truck because there is no way to tell if the truck is a 6.2 until you look at the back end. With a denali and the 6.0L chevs' and gmc's you can tell by one quick glance that it has big power.

ok, maybe I misunberstood the OP's original question. I thought he was asking for help on buying a Silverado/Sierra with the 6.2L not a Ford or Dodge.

So, opinions/advice are only allowed if they directly address the OP's question?

IMO, anyone who buys a truck (or any vehicle) based solely on brand loyalty without consideration of the competition is a fool.

Everybody reads things differently. but I would think if he wanted to know what truck was best and which to buy than he would have ask that. I am fairly new here, and only had my truck about a year now but it seems a bit of your post are always geared to putting the GMT900 trucks down and that we should drive a Ford. If they were that bad, I would think I would be reading a lot more posts of problems with them. I don't see it.

I have seen the topic of AWD vs. 4WD pop up in this thread. Just so ya know, the AWD transfer case has only a 1:1 ratio, while the 4hi/4lo case has a 1:1 and a 2.68:1 ratio.

LOL.............because we don't want to wait however many years it will take for GM to wake up and join the party. You never know with these people, could be next model, could be years?

Waiting for GM to wake up and join the party? Ford just surpassed GM with the 2011s. Before that, GM had the best V8s on the market. And now they're just down on power, only time will tell if Fords engines will last and be reliable.

The money you save will be lost in resale value when the new ones come out.

I can't say I remember seeing the 800s take a hit when the 900s came out. Fullsize trucks have held their value quite well traditionally, regardless of age (to a point of course).

Thats what I'll probably do....gonna be a longgggg yearrrrrr..... :( Iphone 5 suppose to come out in the Fall too, sheww.

I wouldn't want to buy a first model year vehicle from any manufacturer.

Reading this thread brings to mind my two year old. Sometimes you just have to ignore childish behavior to make it stop...

Good luck with your purchase Stinsan3. If you always wait for the latest you can end up waiting a looonnnngg time!

By join the party (comments had nothing to do with engine), I mean finally update our interiors like most of the others have done. Maybe I worded it wrong or didn't really explain. Sorry about that. Nothing wrong with the interior, I like mine and don't want or need anything fancy, it's just been around a while that's all.

You are free to post your opinion as you see fit and I have no problem with that. I'll respect your opinion just as you should respect mine. that way everyone gets along and nobody gets butthurt.

Fair enough?

As for not reading many posts regarding issues with the 900's.....are you serious?

Can we please stay on topic? The original post was asking slt vs Denali vs awd vs 4wd once again it has spiraled down the wrong path.

And when the topic veered and discussed waiting for the next gen or buying a 900, the OP appreciated it and is considering it. Sometimes topics expand and the discussions evolve. nothing wrong with that.
