UPD - Does it REALLY give increased performance?

Does the UPD really give increased performance? I'm not looking for high rev perf improvement, just some better low-end ooomph. I had a replacement lid on my 98 Z28 that *did* add a low-end sotp kick.

I see the GP is expiring 27Dec. I would probably just get one w/o the K&N ... it appears that I just add that info (along with the GP code) in the Comments box then the reduced price will be charged to my cc.

There was a person that dyno'd his truck only changing the k&n fipk and the UPD. The UPD picked up an extra 4-5 hp over the K&n. I went from the K&N to the UPD and don't regret a moment.

I like mine ok. Although, I currently run a Puralator paper filter vice the K&N that came with it. The UPD may have hurt gas mileage slightly, but the better throttle response makes up for it. If you get one, be very careful to rotate the MAF 45deg like the instructions say and make sure the hose clamps on the MAF are not on top or you will punch a hole in the hood insulation. It might also help to reset the CPU, although the instructions don't call for it. I did so with an OBD-II tool. Yes you can hear the intake over what it was stock, but I still have a quiet stock exhaust so all noise is relative. The paper filter is quieter than the K&N too of course.

Bottom line: UPD works for me. :thumb:
