Install Help Axcess GM0S-04

OK, I just ordered a Pioneer AVH-4400BH DVD for my 06 Silverado 2500 crew cab LT with stock bose system and on star.

I ordered Axcess GM0S-04 to retain my On-star and Door Chimes. I noticed a couple ot things. 1, mine does not have any RCA plugs on the GM0S-04 harness. Weird must be an older model. So I assume I can just go from the Pioner stereo harness speaker leads into the GM0S-04 per instructions?

Second, The directions state to connect the red switched power wire on the GM0S-04 16 pin harness (the one that goes from the GM0S-04 to the Pioneer) to the red Power wire on the stereo. That makes sense. However there are 2 red switched power wires on the 16 pin harness. Do I just use one and save the other for another accessory?

Speaking of that it appears the GM0S-04 came with Steering wheel Controls harness for your steering wheel controls adaptor I ordered separatley. The part of the GM0S-04 harness that may be used for the steering controls adaptor has a red switched power wire. I assume this needs power also. So do I used the other red lead on the 16 pin harness for that? The directions are not the best with the Axcess unit. As a matter of fact they do not even talk about the smaller harness that appears to be for steering wheel controls.

I did end up calling Axxcess just to verify. Come to find out I had the power connected correct before I started second guessing because of the poor instructions. For those who are wanting to do an aftermarket head unit here is the info.

The 16 pin GM0S-04 connector does have 2 switched red 12 volt power wires. They both go to the Red switched power on the head unit which is how I had my harness wired. They told me "yeah the instructions did not get updated to show this. Also included on the GM0S harness is a small harness for tying in your steering wheel control interface (sold separate) that has a red 12 volt switched wire that I also tied in to the other red wires and soldered.

The tech expert did tell me the newer GM0S-04 no longer comes with the RCA plugs. So I must have the newer version.

My dash kit did not arrive yet and either did my steering wheel control interface or backup camera so I was not able to a final install yet. But I did pull the old radio and plugged the new GM0S-04 into my factory harness and plug in my new Pioneer AVH-P4400-BH in. Everything worked first try. The sound is amazing and so is this new DVD head unit. I am so glad I decided to upgrade. The wiring was not that bad. Just follow the instructions as good as you can and you should have no problems.

Also for the silverado per the instructions there is a * that states the White with orange stripe and green with orange stripe (I think are colors) on the GM0S harness need to be cut. Did that and saw now problems but like I said I do not have my steering wheel interface yet.

I hope this helps.
