Appears to be a GMT-400 cab.

 

Let's see today I got free lunch due to veterans day. I had my battery tested and it tested bad. So I changed it hoping it would be my problem. And nope. Still having issues

Is start the truck and it would say battery not charging but have 14v. Then when I get above 10 MPH it would say service brake booster. My old red top tested bad today. Warranty expired 11/3/2012. So I bought a yellow top. Battery not charging message went away but still get service brake booster.

 

I'm going to call Nations Auto Electric tomorrow since I bought the alternator from them. Just pisses me off that I put $700 in to it and this happens plus the amp fuse blew

Every once in a while my gauge cluster acts up and the display says " service 4wd" then goes away..

Drove back to school... really loving the Magnaflow, it's getting broken in and sounds better than ever. Loving the 3.73's as well, on my hilly drive it only had to hit 3rd once and came out of OD twice.

More reading and something hit me. Did 2500HD's with 6.0/4l80E have Hydro Boost? I know the clusters were programmed differently. My cluster was a junkyard revival with new stepper motors. Had them replaced twice. I believe I got a new circuit board once. Possibly from a DuraMax. I think I questioned they guy on it and he said the motors sweep according to the computer not what was on the face. The truck the unit came from originally had code JH6. It was a 4WD 2500HD 6.0 gasser. Could the cluster programming for the heavy trucks and it not possibly reading the supplemental brake assist module?

 

I'm sorry, I'm sick and on cold medicine so all I'm doing is laying here looking for answers. but that doesnt explain the amp fuse blowing at the same time. But it can explain the message

I may have shot my theory in the ass. If they have Hydro Boost, and they cluster was still programmed for that would it read the SBA and throw and error?

I would def think the voltage regulator would keep all that juice in check. Have you looked at the connector on the alt yet?

My rebuilt alternator went out so I had to install the one I had on this forum for sale, so its NFS now. Also my water pump that was put on last year started squealing today, it's going in on Wed for a new pump.
