Two 10 minute segments is it. No way around that as far as I know. Depending on the frost it may not totally clear the window but even with the worst of the winter last year (-15F air temp, windchill almost -40) it got the heat plenty warm.

I guess it is better than nothing. She has heated seats, so she can at least be warm while she waits for the windows to clear up.

If you need to warm up for more than 10 minutes why not just use a block heater? 20 minutes seems excessive, but then again the coldest temp I've ever been in has been in the 20's. lol

And I finally washed my truck last night, along with dressing up the rubber, plastic, and tires as usual. Looking down at her from our second story office just got more enjoyable!

Hoping to hear from the adjuster today about the final verdict on my truck. Meanwhile all I can do is look at the pictures of the truck then and now.... :(

Block heater doesn't do anything for getting warm air into the cab, and it still takes a while to get the coolant warm. Unless it's extremely cold (-30 or less) I'd bet the electricity to run the heater costs more than the fuel to idle for a few minutes.

This was about a week ago... But I couldn't get past this sand section since my left wheel would just dig in. So much for off roading. lol

I wish there was cold and snow in Colorado

I mean this with all due respect. Dumb a**, (said in the Red Foreman tone from that 70's show) be careful what you wish for.

It has been sub zero wind chills in IL most of the week & cannot wait until this crap is gone.

Suppose to be 31(will wash truck) Sunday to get the salt off. But that 31 degree temp has

a ice/snow storm following it Sunday eve into Monday & the temps go right back down to single digits. :banghead:

My joke & thoughts of winter aside, this crash on I94 in MI has been on the news the past couple of hours.

Sad day for multiple families & in particular for the one life that was lost.

Gm has a decent on on the Cruze and aveo I think but I really like Chryslers black metallic.

Was reading the other day Chrysler/Ram is bringing it back on the trucks. The article mentioned they only switched to straight black

after the earthquake/tsunami in Japan a couple years ago. A major component of the color was either sourced or the tech was based there.

GM has it too. I think it's Granite Black Metallic or something. Saw it on a Caddy CTS-V at the GM display up at Ignace a couple years ago. In the sun the color was stunning.

    • Because that is IDIOTIC, much like this question. They've already been forced to do it by past administrations - why would you roll that back when it's a GOOD thing?  WHO IS ARGUING FOR LOWER MILEAGE???? 😂  NOBODY IS!!   I'm certainly not! What I want is RELIABLE vehicles again that are worth the price paid!    I don't get your logic here ...   In 2003 I paid $2,200 for our '86 Grand Marquis. It's STILL running and I've never been inside the engine, aside for the timing cover since it was leaking, so I threw a new timing set in since that makes sense. Transmission is ORIGINAL. Electric pump in the gas tank is ORIGINAL. Rear end is ORIGINAL. I'd have to hit my head REAL hard to want to pay $60k or more for a car that still can't come close to the comfort, seating and storage space, or reliability of this one. Nothing is even in the ball park! Hundreds of thousands of brands and models have been built and sent to the crusher while this one keeps on going!   https://postimg.cc/Z9XRrCSg   I've got a whole fleet of cars, motorcycles, and a truck close to this age for summer and winter. No one could pay me enough to buy anything built this century. I have zero use for any it.
    • Since I'm the one who has to fix them when they break, I'll take vehicles over 30 years old all day, EVERY day, over ANY modern crap. Have you attempted any repairs on anything built after 2006? It's a friggin nightmare, and gets worse the newer the model year.    If I had the will or desire, I can make any car of any age outside of a Model T (I don't have THAT much will ...) just as powerful, comfortable, and have all the tech the new stuff does, and get pretty close in mileage, too. I prefer SIMPLICITY. The less the vehicle has, the less to fix WHEN it breaks, not IF.   I'm glad you snot-nosed punks don't like them. More for us, plus that keeps the prices from climbing more than they already have.👍
    • Bringing this thread back on topic. I just noticed the incredible lack of bright chrome across the entire new lineup. Even the Denali has tinted the brightwork in the grille and has none elsewhere. None of them have chrome bumpers. As far as I can tell there aren't even chrome mirror caps. I'm curious if this also happens out back? Are there no chrome rear bumpers either? This is quite the departure for GMC.
