Yes, that is illegal here. No blue or red flashing lights in the front of a vehicle.

 

Repaired a 2005 Silverado cluster this morning.

Spent the day out in the barn. Mounted and balanced some Blizzaks for a neighbor, then spent the rest of the day fixing a few things, and getting ready for parts to arrive for my dad's '07 Arctic Cat 400.

 

Resealed the leaky valve cover and inspection covers, cleaned a mouse nest out of the airbox, vacuumed 5 lbs. of corn and bird seed out of there and the ducts, and removed 2 dead adult mice, and 4 dead babies from the CVT system - also vacuumed at least a pound of ground up corn out of there as well. What a mess! Mice were chewing on edges of belt. My dad must've went for a ride, and scooped the whole family up into the belt and spinning sheaves. What a bloody mess, lol. Carnage.

 

I hear peppermint oil is about the only thing that repels mice. Might have to buy some for my dad and try it at this point.

 

 

Had my home-built waste oil burner blasting away out there today. Was in the 30's this morning, then started raining. Had it up to 68° in there today - I was sweating! Thing was cooking at just under 900°. Got rid of 5 gallons of hydraulic fluid today, and got extremely warm, for free, in the process. :)

 

 

Not a whole lot of room out there these days. 2 full sized vehicles, some motorcycles, and several pieces of OPE, tire machine, balancer, some supplies, tools, etc., and now there's no room! Believe it or not, there are 4 motorcycles buried in that pile there in the first pic ... :lol:

Been using my truck to black friday shop the past couple days. I've been treating myself, maybe a little too much. It all started Thursday morning while waiting in the Gander parking lot at 430am lol. Bought a Ruger Precision Rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor

Then Thursday evening rolls around, I bought myself a 40" LED Smart TV, and then yesterday bought the Samsung sound bar with subwoofer for $85, killer deal couldn't pass that up

Then last night I bought another rifle, whoops. But for $250 after mail in rebate I couldn't pass up on the deal. I don't have a pic of it but it's a savage axis xp chambered in .308 and came with a cheapo Bushnell 3-9x40 mounted and claim it's boresighted.

 

Also bought 10 boxes of 9mm, after $5 mail in rebate per a box, it's gonna be $60 for 500 rounds of 9mm, couldn't pass it up. Probably gonna buy more today again as well lol.

 

All in all I got lucky on a lot of deals. Oh, I also bought a Vortex PST 6-24x50 brand new in box on ebay as well as a scope mount, scope caps, and keymod bipod adapter. I need to quit spending money

Hide those wires. It's easy and cheap. And if you ever sell your house you can say "fully wall mount ready" :lol:

Cost under $20(two $4 pass throughs, two $4 brackets). Worst case your tv cord isn't long enough, you'll need a short extension. A 40" probably only draws 50 watts or less on so no need to get a expensive one, I use a few cheap ones from Wal Mart.. Amazon sells the latest 10 foot HDMI cables in two packs for $8 or so, depending on the day.

Oh I added some more info....and just thought of something else. You can use the brackets Amazon recommends, they go in pretty easy but you lose a bit of clearance if you plan on shoving more than two HDMI cables through. It's do able, just frustrating, the tabs just rest enough in the way to be annoying. When you try to push that third though it wants to get caught on it if it has the ferrite on it.

I've never really understood the whole wall mount thing. I'd rather have it on the pedastal or mounted to the TV stand. It gets windy here and the wind will shake walls sometimes.

So? You need to see one mounted, it's not that weak. I have all mine wall mounted and the plethora of earthquakes haven't had any effect(it's getting ridiculous around here). If wind or earthquakes are going to destroy your studs you'll have bigger problems than a broken TV Edited by SnakeEyes

Any good tips or suggestions for replacing the door seals on a gmt800? The driver's side is what I would like to get to soon.

 

Any specific brand? Part number? Rockauto has quite a few to choose from.

 

The truck might be getting another 1,200+ mile road trip for Christmas. So far she looks good to go although I might also purchase new high beams by then.

      Common failure.  You need to replace the fuel door housing.   The painted cover transfers over to the new housing.  To remove the old one there is 4 spots where you poke the plastic to release it.

      No such thing as regenerative braking on a pure ICE vehicle.     Regenerative braking is the re-capture of energy from electric motors and stores it in the battery pack.  So hybrids, PHEV and EVs have regenerative braking.     What you are seeing is the charging system changing modes is all.  Its likely entering charge mode for some sort of reason is all.  All of the charging modes will be listed below.   As for L10 vs D.  L10 turns off automatic grade braking.  L10 puts you in control of grade downshifts where in D it will automatically do it based on brake pedal position and other factors.  Otherwise L10 and D drive exactly the same aside from that one aspect.    Battery Sulfation Mode The BCM will enter this mode when the interpreted Generator output voltage is less than 13.2 V for 45 minutes. When this condition exists the BCM will enter Charge Mode for 2–3 minutes. The BCM will then determine which mode to enter depending on voltage requirements.   Charge Mode The BCM will enter Charge Mode when ever one of the following conditions are met:   Windshield wipers are ON for more than 3 s. Climate Control Voltage Boost Mode Request is true, as sensed by the HVAC control module via serial data. High speed cooling fan, rear defogger, and HVAC high speed blower operation can cause the BCM to enter the Charge Mode. The estimated battery temperature is less than 0°C (32°F). Battery State of Charge is less than 80%. Vehicle speed is greater than 145 km/h (90 mph) A current sensor malfunction exists. System voltage is determined to be below 12.56 V When any one of these conditions is met, the system will set targeted generator output voltage to a charging voltage between 13.9–15.5 V, depending on the battery state of charge and estimated battery temperature.   Fuel Economy Mode The BCM will enter Fuel Economy Mode when the estimated battery temperature is at least 0°C (32°F) but less than or equal to 80°C (176°F), the calculated battery current is less than 15 A and greater than −8 A, and the battery state-of-charge is greater than or equal to 80%. Its targeted generator output voltage is the open circuit voltage of the battery and can be between 12.5–13.1 V. When fuel economy mode is active, the generator is not charging, only maintaining open circuit battery voltage. The BCM will exit this mode and enter Charge Mode when any of the conditions described above are present.   Headlamp Mode The BCM will enter Headlamp Mode when ever the head lamps are ON (high or low beams). Voltage will be regulated between 13.9–14.5 V.   Start Up Mode When the engine is started the BCM sets a targeted generator output voltage of 14.5 V for 30 s.   Tow/Haul Mode (if applicable) Pressing the Tow/Haul Mode button located on the center stack, the vehicle system voltage is raised and the remote (non-vehicle) battery will be charged. Having the headlamps on will raise the system voltage and if the Tow/Haul button is applied it will not serve any purpose. The voltage is regulated between 13.9-14.5 V.

      Hello from Australia Just sharing that there is now a way to delete the active shutters entirely with just a plug in module. Opens up tons of room to light bars etc.

      I have an observation and a question... 1) I watch the voltage closely because I have had to dial in the cut-in/cut-out voltages of the battery separator to my camper.  The "smart" charging drives me nuts.  Anyway, I noticed that when coasting for a while, and especially if lightly using the brakes (though not necessary), the voltage goes up from mid/high-13 volts to mid/high-14 volts.  Then it drops back down after stopping or going again.  Consistently!   The only explanation I can come up with is REGENERATIVE BRAKING!  Well, maybe that's a little bit of an exaggeration, but it's certainly free extra battery charging.   2) Driving on mountain roads I will use L and vary the max gear.  Things straighten out and I end up in L10.  Sometimes I leave it there for a while.  Is there any difference between L10 and D?
