They're happy with the Rams so far - they're the 1500s with the Hemi. Definitely have come a long way!

After all the crap they went through with the diesels and all the emission crap on the new ones, they decided to go gas this time around. The trucks are really sharp looking, IMO. Ride nice and have tons of power too. Factory bed liner, and factory lighting under the bed rails is a nice touch. My favorite is the covert cooler in the floor there in back. Has a drain and everything.

It wasn't that he WANTED to regen ... it was that the truck went into limp mode due to constant regen failures. Would never regen on it's own like it's supposed to. Every single time we'd tow the boat down the Cape, we'd end up in limp mode, in the right lane doing 45 MPH. Infuriating in a truck he paid over $40 LARGE for ...

My dad got the silver, my brother got white. The wood chocks are there because we were rotating the tires. He's got 7k miles on her so far.

Damn what are specs on the blue car? Looks like a great tow rig lol! Sucks about the diesel problems they both faced. I had a similar issue on my 2013 Passat TDI. The previous owner did lots of city driving and I don't think the car finished many regen cycles completely. So I kept having a check engine light come on. Looked online and it basically said ignore until it stays on constant for a couple hundred miles. I just kept making my drive 60 miles each way to work all highway and it cleared up. Moral of the story it seems these new diesels with emissions needs lots of highway miles. If not city driving and the lack of regen cycles kill them.

More on the TruTrac:

Wow, impressive! Been out a while, and this is the first I've seen of it. Great design there - impressive how those barrel-shaped worm pinions overlap each other. Why doesn't GM offer something like this right out of the gate? Their rears would last forever (maybe that's why ...).

Some BAD scoring on that race! I can just imagine how loud that was.

LOL - actually that's mom's new toy. A 2017 Subaru Legacy Impreza (always call it a Legacy lol - can never get it right) . Pretty cool color too - has a slight turquoise to it.

Sure is alot better looking than the '07 Civic it replaced. I think that had to be the UGLIEST, DUMBEST looking motor vehicle Honda had ever rolled out, LOL!

Here's the 'Buru:

Oh I hear that! Been paying 14 years, and doesn't even seem like I've made a dent in it. Sure makes a dent in my bank account, though.

Paid off my mortgage in 1984 after I received my overtime check from working at the Olympics.

What did you do at the Olympics?

And for a present from my truck my rear tail shaft output seal is leaking. I swear I will definitely be checking out other brands when comes time for a new truck. 98k on the clock, rear end rebuilt 3 times, torque converter and solenoids replaced, constant clunking from the driveline in this thing. It's a damn shame we didn't let gm go bankrupt they deserved it and would have been better off.

What did you do at the Olympics?

Was an electronic Technician back then for CBC, but was lent to NBC and CBS for some problems they encountered with Ampex Video recorders they had back then. My overtime check was greater than my yearly salary. Was in Los Angeles for 13 weeks and Palo Alto for 5 weeks prior specializing. The nightmare of working for a US company with no working VISA was something worked out by my company and US broadcasters. They had to prove none of their employees knew how to solve the problem. Since I had encountered the same problem on 2 of our machines I had all of of a sudden become an expert. They actually paid CBC through programming rights or something like that. I don't like paper work and to me back then we had one moto ''The show must go on''. We had a similar issue in Sydney in 2000 with Sony Cameras overheating and blowing power supplies but there no work visa issues. Accounting took care of the billing. Was also there for 13 weeks working double shift 7 days a week. Hardest Olympics to recover from and I was only 44 at the time. Got home October 3rd and didn't feel good until Christmas. Rough times. In Sydney I was the field Engineer and had way too much untested new gear, mostly Sony crap.

Seals always leak a little especially when not driven enough, check fluid levels and don't worry too much about it if it doesn't spill out. I had an S10 that leaked from the transfercase from day one, never dripped in the driveway but was always wet with what appeared a drop ready to fall. I drove that truck for 10 years and for ten years every time I took it in for inspection I asked them to check the transfer case oil level and in 10 years they never once added fluid to it and yet that droplet was always hanging there ready to fall.

Maybe you should talk to my brother about getting a Dodge or my friend Earl about getting a Ford, he's on his second new one after a buy back and still spending more time at the dealer than with his upset wife.
