What should I do with $260

I guess this is the right place for this question.

Ive got a little expendable cash and I want to spend it in one of two ways. Im either wanting to get an Autocal from BBP, or upgrade my pillar gauges to digital.

My truck needs a recalibration for the 35s I just installed, so I already need Justin to tweak my tune to compensate.

I could go the Autocal route because that would save me the down-time and hassle of shipping my PCM, or trying to get a crank relearn on a spare PCM.

It would save all the mentioned above time and hassle if I ever got a regear.

I can use it like a scan tool to clear my annoying P0442 code.

I could have a couple more tunes available to install if I wanted them.

But, after I get the tune adjusted to my liking, Im not sure that I would use the Autocal much anymore. I dont want it to be a waste of money that i could use somewhere else on the truck.

Im at an impass and need some input.

If you have an Autocal, how often do you use it to switch tunes, scan, etc?

Not gonna happen. The primary purpose of my rig is to get me to work, do some light hauling and towing, and crawl around in the woods. Train horns wont help improve any of those.

While they might be a blast on the highway (pun intended) I wouldnt be able to justify them to myself.

I like using the AutoCal to switch my tunes to stock if taking to the dealer for service or warranty work. They ran a scan on my truck last week while it was in for service to make sure the updates were there and all was fine. My service advisor was shocked nothing came up as I had the BB tune on my truck at the time. He's been wanting an AutoCal as well but just hasn't saved the cash yet. I also like the autocal for when I switch to E85 or run 93 octane here in Houston. I know I would never leave the stock program on it since it is so horrible with the AFM, etc.

Well, my truck doesnt have any warranty left, and all of my service that gets done by anyone but me is done by my local mechanic. I have thought that it might be nice to switch between octane ratings and see where my mileage ends up.

I have also been reading up on Cyberdyne gauges and I dont think I want to spend my hard earned money on them.

So I guess now it comes down to wehter or not I feel that the autocal would be worth it.

Dont really need a winch either, no snow, no rain or rocks, and the mud I go through is nothing the truck cant handle on its own. Thought about getting one, but I had one on my 01 Wrangler that I never used. Litterally only used it once to pull a hog trap out of the brush. Just another option that I couldnt justify.

tow mirrors

Thought about that just the other day. I always thought, "whats the point on a half ton?" but with the size of my truck, I think they might be justified at some point. Its just that I need to get my speedo adjusted ASAP so my odometer stays somewhat accurate and I can actually figure my MPG accurately.

We are already planning a party for them. Asside from both of them turning 50 this year, it is their 30th anniversary. So thats already in the works.

Cam, or headers...

I didnt think about that. While Im not ready for that now, I would concider that another handy reason to have the Autocal. I think Ill do it. Im gonna bite the bullet and order my Autocal today, hopefully. I forgot about all of those mods that will be in my distant future, like a cammed 6.0, headers, gears, and other stuff that Im sure Im forgetting. The Autocal would make it much easier to make changes in the computer when that time comes.

i thought the same thing about tow mirrors, and i was hesitant to get them but if you have a lifted or level 1500 with bigger tires they look more in place

I already have a face to face tune, but I decided to get the autocal just so I can have changes made faster and easier than mailing my PCM or having to pay for a crank relearn.
