Adding 2nd bed light to Avalanche

Recommended Posts

Has anyone added a 2nd bed light to their Avalanche? I only have a bed light on the drivers side. I don't know if it was an option to have a light on each side of the bed or if all the newer Avalanches only have it on the drivers side. I know there is the round indent in the passenger side bed liner.

I don't really need the light in the bed, where I find it useful is it lights up the inside of the toolbox.

So tap into the wires for your current light for a led light/strip in your toolbox

They are on opposite sides of the truck. I'm more curious if the wires for the send light are behind the other panel without going through the trouble of tearing off the passenger side bed panel. In that case I could just tap into the tail light wires but its more trouble than its worth at that point.

The second light is standard on the Escalade IIRC. I don't think the wiring is in place on the Avalanche for the right side light. Probably more trouble than it's worth to install it. Easier to buy one of those stick-on LED lights for lighting the saddle compartment.

Thanks for the heads up on that. Yeah if the wiring is not there it is definitely more trouble than its worth. It was a thought though.
