It will let you set programed destination in your address book while driveing with voice commands. Also if you have it displaying poi you can touch them on the screen and it will take you to them. but it will not let you search them. I only tapped one wire (the VSS wire). these are new parts not used from ebay. It is no different than you going to the parts counter and buying an accessory. The dealer actually sells these to upgrade your vehicle.

I finish my install today and I am very pleased with it. Here are the pictures summing it up.

The pictures above show how to remove the bottom of the driver sid dash. There are 2 phillips screws and one 10 millimeter bolt. After the hardware and fuse panel cover have been removed just give it a good tug and the spring clips will release.

The above picture shows the 2 seven milimeter screw and 2 philiips screws that need to be removed for the center piece to be taken out. just give a good tug as well and the clip will release as well.

With the cover removed the VCIM is exposed.

As above plug in the two wire harness into the empty ports to the right in the photo. Then snap the VCIM back in place and route the wire in to the radio cavity. I did not include the disassembly for the radio part as it is discussed in my opening post.

With the radio removed I pulled the harnesses free to access the main harness. My set up has 2 t-harnesses. The first one is for my XM install that done at the dealer as an accessory as my truck did not come with it. The second harness is for my amp that takes place of the bose as my truck did not ship with Bose and I do not feel like upfitting my truck for it. The radio actually has pre outs coming out in place of the speaker wires. With a Bose unit you can solder RCA jacks on the what normally would be your speaker wires and hook up and aftermarket amp with out line converters. As stated before the amp that came with the kit is 10X better sounding than the factory radio.

Above on the main dash harness I pulled the locking clip out of the connector and inserted the black wire in slot 5 and the red wire in slot 4 connecting the navigation unit to the VCIM. once you have fully seated the deuche pins lock push the clip lock back in and plug back into the t-harness or radio depending on what your set up is. BTW the XM accessory kit has all wires passed though as well as the amp harness.

I took a break as it is hot as hell outside in Florida to cut the hole in my upper glove box for the USB port for my AUX. This took about 1.5 hours to cut this as i had to repeativly score the cut with a razor over and over and over and over.... You get the point. I could have used a dremel but they tend to melt the plastic not cut making a mess and possible ruining the part.

I ran the usb cable into the radio cavity and placed though the cut hole in the glove box. With the USB port attached and the radio all hook up I fired it up to verify proper operation. yay it worked!!! so i buttoned it up. The glove box is retained with spring clip and two torx screws (I do not remember the size but I will update when I go out the garage and check). You have to install the glove box prior to pushing the port in as it will interfer with the dash inner structure.

There you go it is all put back together, and I am very happy. At first the voice rec did not work but i believe it was due to the VCIM have to become aware of its new connection. BTW the pink ipod is for my pink 1939 Ford's stereo.

As I have already stated before, I am glad I spent the time to connect the voice harness. Once you get the keywords down it functions flawlessly even with the sound of my exhaust. Here is a demo video I made.

Can I get the contact info for these nav systems? I see people referring to Gregg at CPS audio. Did a google search, but did not come back with much. I really like the look of these nav units, and going factory is definitely what i want to do. thanks!

How's it going hzhardy. Do you happen to know if this is doable on a 2007 NBS Silverado WT? Has definitely sparked my interest.

Thanks and nice right up btw.
