Ground Wire To The Throttle Body

Well from what the engineer said, there is absolutely no reason for it. Though no engineer, my job in the military, Electrician and Environmentalist for F-16's, I would also have to call b.s. Why would you ground the housing with thicker gauge wire if it is not needed? An internal ground is an internal ground. It is on the inside of the housing doing the job the engineer's at GM designed. Best things that help throttle response is re-mapping how the ecu or pcm reacts when you put your foot through the floor. If I am not mistaken, GM actually designed these to have a little bit of lag WOT in stock configuration.

Sounds like bullshit to me. The theory is just not even right. It's the PCM that makes the throttle open slowly, grounding it won't improve anything.

I guess if it was poorly grounded it would help, but like others said highly un likly

EXACTLY....

That link is BS....I am a member of that forum also and have been reading that topic from day 1. It's total nonsense. That's the same with these guys that have huge results with a throttle body spacer and gain 20HP on these trucks...........it just won't happen.

The throttle body is grounded through the wiring harness, no extra wires are needed. The only way to improve throttle response is with a tune, not a random piece of wire.

Exactly!

Once again, the "real" GM forum comes thru with truth and understanding. Maybe more people will come over here for the facts.

Thanks, guys.

I hope so. I have been arguing that it is useless and pretty much got attacked!

Many of those guys don't even know what truck, or engine they have in their truck. It's not a bad forum but people over there get upset when they are corrected as to what factory equipment they have in/on their truck. One guy was arguing that he has a 2011 5.3LZ71 with NHT max towing, he defends that to the end and everyone else is wrong. :dunno:

Stuff like that is why I skipped signing on there when I got this truck and came here instead.

I guess I'll have to point it out to you: see the last paragraph you wrote in post #8. I was referring to those who won't be swayed in their beliefs by the truth.

Guess I should have used a "quote". Sorry for the confusion.
